Hong Kong is the world’s major IPO center and the second largest private equity market
in Asia. With its advantages in the capital market, it can provide companies in the Greater Bay
Area with comprehensive financing options, help them reduce financing costs and support
their continued growth.
Hong Kong’s aviation industry not only has advantages in airport hardware and
management, but also has a professional and technically demanding aircraft maintenance
industry. It can provide one-stop aviation services to the Greater Bay Area, and its experience
can also help improve the industry in the region.
Hong Kong’s scientific research is mainly led by universities and has excellent talents,
mainly engaged in cutting-edge upstream research, but lacks midstream transfer and
downstream production. In contrast, Shenzhen’s scientific research is dominated by industry,
focusing on applied research in the middle and lower reaches. Dongguan and Huizhou in
the Pearl River Delta can play a role in manufacturing products. Each city in the region has
complementary advantages and can establish an international innovation and technology
center that runs through the upstream, middle and downstream of the innovation and
technology park.
In recent years, medical tourism in Asia has developed rapidly. Chief Executive Officer
said that despite Hong Kong’s potential, it was limited by its sparse population. If the plan
is transferred to the Greater Bay Area, Hong Kong-branded hospitals can be established in
Zhongshan, Zhuhai and other places. It is also convenient for local tourists.
Many Hong Kong people want to work or retire in the Mainland, but they have
reservations due to lack of medical support. Through the planning of the Greater Bay Area,
more medical facilities managed by Hong Kong and Hong Kong can be built, making it easier
for people living or retiring in the mainland. This will also help alleviate the pressure on
Hong Kong’s aging society.

worried that Hong Kong’s resources will be thinned. For example, in terms of medical

systems, and promote the coordinated development of higher education in the Greater
Bay Area. Counselor of the Guangdong government, proposed to introduce well-known
universities to run schools in the Greater Bay Area; and promote the sharing of educational
resources in the three places, such as sharing online book resources, sharing teacher resources,
and sharing laboratories.
So, what are the reasons that make Hong Kong an irreplaceable place of the Development
