I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of the Young Writers Awards for the again this year.
It has been a joy to read the entries that have come in and to bear witness to the talent out
there. I strongly believe in encouraging young people to develop the key skills involved in
communicating effectively. Creativity, writing skills and storytelling skills are extremely
valuable skills and will stand these young people in good stead for a bright future.
I am incredibly proud to play a small part in this process and witness these students
developing the passion and skills they’ll need to become the professional storytellers and
journalists of tomorrow.
