The next day Yi had woken up looking paler than ever, Ming had a bad feeling. She could see it in her mums eyes. A few days had passed and Ming was walking to school she had noticed that someone was following her, she recognized his face. She managed to cut on a corner and loose him. This happened to her every day for two weeks she would see him then try and lose him. She was scared and confused. She didn't know what to do. When she had got to school, she was entering the decaying building and saw him from the corner of her eye. She was creeped out she didn't know what to think she didn't know what to do. He had never followed her to school. Before she could process what just happened she was grabbed by the arm. She tried screaming but she couldn't move, his toned arm was pushing into her mouth. She thought she was going to die, she kept trying to kick and scream but she was getting nowhere. He had taken her around the corner of the old school building. He yanked her to a small lush green shed made of straw, 50 yards from the school. She wanted to bolt, to run, to get away but something inside of her told her to stay. Ming was contemplating whether or not to run, when suddenly the man said four words which changed her life “I am your Father.” These words stunned her, shook her, she didn't know if she should believe him. She heard truth in his voice but she also heard regret. So Ming did the only thing she knew to do she ran, ran as fast as her legs would carry her. Far away. When she got home she thought there must be a way to figure out who that man was. The only idea she had was to look through her albums upstairs. Besides if he really was her father there must be a photo. She scrambled through all the photos and papers and found one. It looked exactly like the man she saw earlier today. He had had black silky hair and dark brown eyes, he had a nose that just matched hers. Ming was so confused and startled, she didn't know what to think, she started to cry. All these years of wondering who her father was and he was right there, in front of her. The next day on the way to school her father followed her, except this time she walked straight towards him. She demanded an explanation! All he said was “I was in jail and now I am out of jail. I was searching for you and your mother for a very long time”. She could see the hope in his eyes the hope should would believe him and Ming did believe him. The only dilemma he faced was that he told Ming that he was out of jail, when he had actually escaped. The government was searching for him. When they had got home she told him to wait outside. She came inside and told her mother, everything. As if on cue her mother began to cry, Ming felt helpless. Ming also had told her he was waiting outside. Yi let him in, every step she took she regretted everything. When he came inside he didn't have to explain, Ming had done the hard part for him. Xiao just hugged Yi, he hugged her with everything he had, he loved her and he was back. The next day they had been sitting on the breakfast table sharing memories and talking like family, a happy family. Days went by, they were together everything was perfect. The way is should be. Then suddenly as if from nowhere the police came thrashing of their door. The whole family heard it and rushed to see what was happening. They were screaming “XIAO. XIAO” he knew he couldn't hide. He knew this time he could not dodge them. He told Yi these words “I will come back home eventually, I love you” and just like that he was gone. They lost him again. That's when Ming understood the story her mum told her was about her parents. Ming knew he was gone, for a long time.
