part of the dough and rolled it out into a thin sheet, then, he took a small section of meat and put it in the center of the sheet of dough, lastly, he took a small chunk of the soup jelly and put it with the meat. “So what? You’re just serving it like that?” The Head Chef questioned. Xiao Long then pulled up all sides of the dough around the meat and jelly and twisted it to look like a small dumpling. He then made 5 more, and steamed them in order for the jelly inside to melt. Before sending out the dumplings Xiao Long made, he gave one to the Head Chef, after trying it, the look on the chef ’s face was of pure astonishment. He had no idea something new that had never been tried before could be so amazing! “Do you see now? This is the power of creativity.” Xiao Long proudly said. The Head Chef was not the only one to be happily surprised, the Japanese food critic was completely in love with the creative dish, and ordered another 10, as well as that, he asked to meet the chef responsible for the dish. “What do you call this food? Does it have a name?” He asked. “It does not, I haven’t got the creativity to think of a name, sir.” Xiao Long responded shaking his head. “Well then, from now on, the dumplings will be called Xiaolong Bao!” 5! 4! 3! 2! 1! The Independent Schools Foundation Academy, Wong, Michelle - 14 As I climb up on my mighty gold dragon, the fluffy clouds drifted beside me. The view of Shanghai, what a magnificent sight. People tall and small all looked up and waved at me. The adults were talking to each other, chatting as their children play tag together. Little buns tied up, they started running towards me as I fly through the blue sky. In rows, the colorful traditional clothes danced to the wind as the water droppings land on them. I waved back to the children following my below me as my dragon flew through the airwaves. Small brown Lego houses all moved out in order for the children to run through. The parents hanging up their lanterns and the firecrackers getting ready for new year. The kites fly high in their hand as I gently pushed them aside. Behind follows pairs of phoenixes, in formation, they sang sweetly together putting me in bed. I took a big deep breath of the fresh air up in the sky. As I look back up to the sky, I lied down enjoying the moment. Slowly my eyelids became heavier as I curled myself comfortably on the dragon’s back. Suddenly a lightning flashed beside me, I woke up frightened. Everything in my sight starting the blur. Everything I see is gray. What is happening? As the bright colors fade away I couldn’t see anything else but gray. Suddenly a shot of light shined in my eyes. As I tried to get back to my mind, I don’t see the kids anymore; I don’t see the adults chatting to each other happily; I don’t see the colorful traditional clothes flowing in the wind; I don’t see the tiny houses lined up in order; I don’t see the kites; I don’t see the phoenixes beside me… A sudden lift, below me, is the Shanghai tower. How are the buildings so tall these days? I see the windows reflecting the sunshine back to my face. Not far I see a river. Above the pudding river, large ships sail above. The ships gently flew above the polluted sea. I looked down worried, why are we flying so high? I looked at my dragon but he just kept on going on. Getting lower, I saw some white black gray blue blocks of metal moving across the ground in different directions. What is this new fancy car? How can it be so shiny? As we go closer the reflection shined in my eyes as I see the kids in the car looking surprised at me? Where did the happy kids go? Where did the traditional old fashion buildings go? How did they become so tall and so high tech? Where did the flying clothes hanging outside the houses? Why did they all disappear after this sudden change of Shanghai?
