“Oh my goddess”I mouthed and jogged forward. “Athena ”I said. “Avery, w-what are you doing here.”which confirmed it was Athena. -My sister- I stared at her a without stopping, understanding why she was here. Athena was my elder sister. She and my dad passed away when I was 7, .They were killed in a car crash when my family and I were coming back from a trip and I was wearing the same exact clothes as I was now. This made my suspicions about being dead even worse. I used my courage and started a conversation with the most idiotic question “Am I Dead? Athena, am I like a ghost now,?” She giggled and simply replied, “No. This is Mid-Heaven” “Mid-heaven, I'm dying, right.” “ You figured it out .”She said in a sad way. “ And, my cancer has taken me here and you to me.” “Cancer, what cancer, what are you talking about?” Athena questioned. “Athena, last year, I was diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Melanoma . And this cancer causes serious hallucinations.” I slowly figured the whole thing out. Shanghai is my favourite place on earth and Athena was the closest person to me and she died on the day we came back from Shanghai . Athena explained that it would be about now that I have to choose between living and dying and I had to spend all time and make every moment count. It sounded like cheesy romance film but it was true. In that exact moment, two shiny, bright, white lights appeared at the two sides of me. From my right side, I heard the voice of doctor Jimee saying,” Get the shock paddles and charge it to 200. We can bring her back to life.” That's when I realised that it had only been 7 seconds since I «dozed» off. On my left side, I knew I could be with my dad and Athena in Heaven. What should I do? I knew my decision then and stepped into the flash of light. I once heard, “ If you ever loved anything or anyone, you should let it go.” I loved my life, so I let it go.
