surprising? Mysteries. They were always my weakness, my forte and my passion. And this specific mysterious poem read: One reason, one task To unveil the one behind the mask. Away you shall go, travelling over the sea, To discover a world and unlock with a key. Someone will find you, it’s just destiny But don’t underestimate the power that she will free. Find this person unlock this secret. Don’t leave the city before you have reached it. What does that mean? I didn’t know either but what if. What if , this disappearing mystery, this little girl was my mystery? My destiny . I had to find out. So I ran. No, I sprinted towards the Shanghai tower; I placed my hand against the metallic structure and nothing. No zapping feeling, no tingling sensation and most definitely no disappearing magic. Then I thought. Of course there wasn’t an invisible six-year-old running around the city. It was just my imagination. My silly little mind playing games. So I left, I sulked. But why would that be surprising? I was disappointed, I had high expectations and as always I was disappointed and let down. Mysteries, it’s what they did to you. I left the city center, and walked back home with a drooped head. I entered my battered down residence and standing there waiting for me was a little six-year-old girl looking back at me with those eyes filled with fascination. “Wha-what are you doing here?” I stuttered. “I have a mission, I am here to meet someone and by your reaction to my disappearing. I am quite convinced it is you.” My jaw had dropped and my pupils enlarged. The girl said nothing, she just grabbed my wrist and dragged me out of the room. Much of the rest was a blur. But I do remember zapping across the city and being brought into some sort of factory. It was dark. A gloomy atmosphere filled the space. Then there was a click and bright lights shone. There were people standing on every side of the room, staring at me. “Welcome.” They all said in unison. “We are here to help you with your mystery. Solve it or fail it we are by your side, to win or lose with you we shall abide.” Then the light dimmed and they all started to shuffle. Not one whisper filled the air, after a while they were gone and I was once again left with the girl whom had brought me here.
