The sun rises and the early-wakers of the city are up and wandering the streets of the old city. Among that
crowd is Mariella, having found her brother and the others last night, she now looks for Luciana, her best
friend. She spots a small crowd gathering at the opening of one of the back streets, and follows the gathering
of people. As she pushes her way to the front of the crowd she hears whispers. Whispers about a body;
whispers about a young woman. Her stomach flips as she reaches the front, a cry escapes her lips, and her
knees buckle. A single word escapes her mouth, “Luciana!”
