Later that night, something ran through my brain. I thought that maybe we could draw a false map and replace it with the real one. Even though I knew it would be risky, but if it works, we would have a safe hideout that they wouldn’t know. I built my courage, and told my parents the idea. Unexpectedly, they said it was a good idea, and planned out how it might work out. The next day, we carried out the plan. We followed one of the teams, and waited for our chance to steal the real map and replace it with the fake. Weeks passed by as we stayed in the alley without getting caught. Till, one of the soldiers saw an extra alley that wasn’t on the map. At first, he thought it was just a mistake the other soldier didn’t add. Nevertheless, he went back and told the soldier, however, the soldier insisted that he had added that alley into the map. And they started to suspect. They inspected the other maps, and checked if there were any problems with the others. Though, this was the only piece that had a problem. They went back to the inaccurate part and wanted to check what happened. We were clueless that they would be even coming. We lived our lives in that alley, and thought nothing would happen since the soldiers never ever thought this alley even existed. We were just chatting, when we heard their footsteps by the mouth of the alley. We were stunned and didn’t know what to do. Our first instinct was to hide. We hid behind an old mattress where we heard their footsteps come close.
