Camellia was surprised to find tears all over her face . She didn ' t want to admit it , but she realised that she still loved Aeneas , that she wasn ' t ready to move on yet . Surrounded by the innumerable lovely and gorgeous flowers , Camellia stood under the gigantic magnolia tree and got lost in memories once again . This time , however , were the memories of the eight-year war .
After Aeneas went missing , Camellia found another letter left by him in the Book Club , along with a bunch of magnolias . Although there were lots of creases on the paper , it was still readable .
" Dear Camellia ," it said , " You seem tired and upset these days . I hope the Magnolia garden cheers you up a bit . If there ’ s something on your mind , don ' t hesitate to talk about it with me . I ' m always here for you ."
Camellia blinked back tears and continued reading , " You may be surprised , but since the day we ' ve met , I ' ve fallen deeply in love with you . At that time , however , everything in my mind was to get you to love books . What I didn ' t realise that I was already under your spell . Thanks to fate , we got the chance to know each other , and I also got the chance to introduce you to a good book ." Camellia ' s face burnt . " When you said that you ' d become a bookworm like me and gave me the warmest smile in the world , my heart raced . My mind went blank . At that very moment , I was drawn to you . I was addicted to you ." It continued , " As days passed , my feelings grew stronger and stronger . Ever since I ' ve met you , my life has never been the same . You ' re such an amazing girl , always being so bright and cheerful . Your warm smile lights up my whole world , your sweet voice melts my heart , just the sight of you makes my day . I ' ve totally fallen for you , for the girl who is as pure as a magnolia ."
" I love you ."
Tears broke free in an unending stream on Camellia ' s face . She bitterly regretted her choice , for hiding her true feelings . She could have lived differently , she could have been there with him , but she just let the chance slip by in front of her very eyes . Letting out a heart-wrenching wail , Camellia broke down and fell asleep in tears of regret .
From that day on , traces of Camellia could be found all around the city , trying to find her beloved . She had asked everyone she knew for help , but Aeneas was still nowhere to be found . Days passed , everyone was telling Camellia that there was no hope , telling her to give up , but she didn ' t want to let chances slip away once more . She had to turn back the clock , make up for what she ' d lost , and leave no regrets . " I must find him , no matter what ," she swore to herself .
However , life ' s not always what we want it to be . In order to find her beloved , Camellia went through all kinds of hardships . She ran around the city every day , trying to find every single piece of news of Aeneas ' whereabouts , and at the same time trying to hide from the invaders . During the worst times , she was mistakenly shot in the legs , and had even been caught and interrogated due to suspicious activities . After all Camellia had gone through , Aeneas was still nowhere to be found . There wasn ' t even a single piece of his news . Camellia had never been so hopeless , and finally collapsed with huge grief and wounds all over her body .
Seeing that there was no hope at all , Camellia finally gave up locating Aeneas . For the first time she stopped and looked at the scenery in front of her . She was shocked to find out the huge changes of the city where she grew up in : wreckage of buildings and houses , numerous cracks on the ground , corpses lying everywhere ... It was like a drowned world . In a hurry , Camellia went back home as fast as she could , and gasped in horror . Her mansion had collapsed , her parents were sitting on the road with tattered clothes , the kind neighbour she had just chatted with two months ago had starved to death , Yelena had been killed by a flying missile ... All of these came so abruptly that Camellia went blank . " Was this all a nightmare ...?" She wished all of this was just a nightmare , she wished they were all illusions . For the first time , Camellia understood what Aeneas meant by ' you won ' t know what ' ll happen tomorrow , so make good use of the time '. However , it was already too late . Time could never be reversed , and all she had were regrets .
