Future Adventures of the Greater Bay Area Canadian International School of Hong Kong, Kaneshige, Anri - 10 I took a glance out of my bedroom window, Grass flowing side to side, leaves blowing into my window and for the record this is not normal. Life in Hong Kong was different, I was truly a city girl, I’m used to being surrounded by buildings not grass and all this apparatus that was going on. But it was actually one of the nicest feelings I ever felt. I took a deep breath, inhaling and soothing in the essence of nature, hoping it would never end. I ran outside my room ready to see a flight of stairs and a smell of breakfast being prepared. I felt discombobulated because I was used to walking out of my room and the truth is: I never really walked stairs in a house before. I let that thought go away as I followed the scent of a great meal approaching. As I sat down on one green contemporary chair while My mom cooked up a nice warm Hong Kong waffle with syrup as dressing. I felt down in the dumps because I miss Hong Kong already.” Mom where are we?” I asked liked I was in trouble.” We are in one of the newest cities from the Greater Bay Area!” She said in the most enthusiastic voices I have ever heard. I was getting irritated with all this nonsense so I busted out of the house waiting to see a miracle… As I stepped out of the door, A burst of wind flew through my face while my hair made my eyes blind. For a moment I thought it was going to be a normal, just walking to the bus stop while seeing nothing but buildings. But instead I saw a park and saw cool structured houses all around me. As I looked at this beautiful scenery one more time I saw my friend, Steph. Steph’s a considerate friend and she always has my back. I ran towards like it was some Titanic moment and we hugged for what seemed like minutes. We were describing how we somehow appeared here with no notice. As we arrived at school, the new teacher greeted us as we sat down at our wooden desk. After the disastrous 8 hours of school passed by, I was back in my room again. My new bed smelled like a nice scent of christmas. But room looked like a hurricane happened. I was to dull to do anything in a small room, so I grabbed my jacket as I headed out to the community. The community was circled around a inscrutable statue right in the middle of our neighborhood. I joined the crowd to discover what was happening. “ This is one of the most primeval Cities in the world, and as sience has shown, this city has advanced to ameliorate every century until… This!!!” A round of applause broke out from the audience. I woke up the next morning hearing drops of anonymous clouds of coldness from the window. I opened up the curtains to find a few feet of snow piling up on the shed. It was a miracle! I saw kids rapidly running out of their houses to have a snowball fight. After all, moving here was one of the greatest decisions our Family has ever made. I see this city to be different then I used to, As now I have been looking at differently, and that changed my thinking.
