The Greater Bay Area

The Greater Bay Area is located at Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau. It is the most notable urbanization
initiative and covers a large sector of China’s economy. The goal of the Greater Bay Area is to compete against
the world’s most urbanized cities. The population of The Greater Bay area is around the double of the
population of Canada despite its smaller land area. Even though the Greater Bay Area only occupies 1 percent of
China’s land, it takes up about 12 percent of China’s GDP. Thus, the Greater Bay Area is considered as a very
valuable area for China’s development. The Greater Bay Area is not just an urbanized city but also a city with a
vibrant tour industry. Its gorgeous and developed cities attract tourists, thus, the transportations to the Greater
Bay Area is being improved. The city also attracts people to develop their company and works. This is because of
the highly ranked container ports and quality of living.
I live in the east of China, Shanghai. Shanghai is a gorgeous city, developed and civilized. Under the
bright sun, I walked outside to take some fresh air. Then, I realized a white piece of paper sticking out the
mailbox. The letter was an invitation to a free experience of living in the Greater bay area for five years, I was
provided with every tour, service and livings free and with a feedback for the living condition in the Greater Bay
Area for payback. I quickly packed up my luggage and instantly I was ready to go for the visit.
I looked around from the window of the airplane, numerous numbers of airplanes from worldwide were
in the massive airport. Despite the enormous size of the airport, there were still constructions going on beside the
airport for a expand of size. As I came off the plane, I could see people from various countries holding those
business bags, that made them look like upper class business mans that specifically came to the Greater Bay area
for jobs.
Later, I had a pick-up bus for a tour around the Greater Bay Area. On the wide road along the way to
the downtown, the fancy cars took over the road. Along each sides of the roads were the enormous buildings,
shining under the bright sun. As I entered the city and got closer to the living areas, they were a lot more
convenient. Beside my compound, were a few more of others. Around the living areas, there were lots of
convenient stores and big malls with things from worldwide countries. Not just the shopping but transportation
was another lead, every 5 minutes walk, you could see a metro or a bus station leading to almost everywhere in
the greater bay area.
Then, I entered my compound, even though I was in Hong Kong, this place had a diversity of people.
People from worldwide were walking pass me. Each compounds of the area had everything that you could
imagine, from swimming pools to soccer fields. The various sport areas were adapted for people from various
countries. Almost every of the compounds had very high apartments due to the high population density. When
you wake up in the morning to take a walk, you will see tons of people on the side roads even though it is very
early.
On the next day, I was assigned a job to the harbor area. At the coast of the sea, I could see thousands
and millions of container boxes lying around the coast and on the ship. The enormous ship caught my eyes, think
about the size of the largest plane you’ve ever been on. The ship was 3 to 4 times its size, and there weren’t just
one but tens of ships ready to deliver products to other countries on the other side of the world. I guess the
number of container boxes that the harbor can hold is a major attraction to companies that does lots of exporting.
Next, is the visit to the international transport hub. The worker in the place introduced to me that there
is 2000km of railway only around the city. As I came down the stairs, I noticed a high-speed train ready to
departure. The train had a pointy nose that was as sharp as a bullet and it also travelled as fast as a bullet. Just after
taking few seconds to focus on walking down the stairs, the train was gone and completely out of my site.
The Greater Bay Area with its incredibly high economic status will help lead China’s way to a better
peak. The urbanized city and the high-quality living of the city has impressed me but more importantly it is the
diversity of people in the city. The great number of tourists shows how beautiful the city is and having people
from worldwide live side by side tells how friendly each of us are.
