Greater Bay Area

What a nice day, nice weather, good sleep - everything makes this day the best day for working.
Almost forgot to introduce myself: I’m James, an ordinary engineer working at the world most advanced area -
The Greater Bay Area. I just woke up, in the freezing cold winter. I pumped up myself with a nice bowl of hot
porridge. Dressed up myself with the Auto Heat-up jacket. It was like a gift from the gods, perfect for these
freezing winter days. For slowing global warming, that started like a century ago, most of the people started using
public transport. There are a lot of buses running at the same time, so we don’t need to worry about missing a
bus. The buses are fully automatic and can be driven without a driver. Phew, so lucky that there is no traffic
today, or else I would be late for work again. Traffic jams here are often caused by those cars with drivers, and
not automatic ones.
As I arrived to my office, I knew that this day would be a so called full work day. Our company is now
inventing a new type of phone, called the, 3-Folded-Phone. Let me briefly introduce this phone. This phone is
like what it’s named, 3-folded. When this phone is not folded, it is a tablet used like a laptop; when this phone is
two folded, it is an ordinary phone used to call and chat; when this phone is three folded, it is when the exciting
part comes, it is folded like a triangle, it can be put beside your bed and be used as an alarm clock. It is extremely
useful when we use it in our daily lives. We can buy one device for multiple uses!
After a morning of hard work, it’s finally lunch time. We are allowed to have one and a half hours of
lunch plus free time. It’s usually a half an hour of random lunch and another relaxing 1 hour of the best coffee in
the Greater Bay Area Starbucks. I chose a Chinese Noodle shop for today’s lunch, and a nice cup of raspberry
triple shot latte to pump up the rest of the day. After lunch is a very relaxing hour, and after lunch, there is only
one hour left till the day of work is over. Finally, I am done with another day’s work, but for us in the highlydeveloped
city like the Greater Bay Area, our day has just started.
As I travelled home in the public bus, deciding what’s for dinner, I heard a loud bang at the head of the
bus. I guess I’ll have to take another transport home. As I got down off the bus, walking towards a metro station,
a rather bright looking store caught my eyes. As I took a closer look, I found out that it was a VR store that had
just opened recently. I went in and saw that that store isn’t just for selling VR devices. The store actually had a
place to play VR games. I went to play some of the new games that just come out – it was very intense and fun.
As the sky started to turn dark, I had to go home. On the way back, I went to an unmanned supermarket. That
particular unmanned supermarket had a lot of different foods and vegetables. After I chose what I needed for
dinner, I started walking to the metro station.
Finally, I reached the metro station and I got in the metro. It was already quite late so there were only a
few people in the metro. I reached home at about eight in the night. I cooked myself a dinner with my brand
new self-cooking pot. It can basically cook by itself anywhere by automatically heating up. After I ate dinner, I
cleaned up my dinner table and left the house and the nightlife of the Greater Bay Area, had just started.
After I left home, I went on a taxi and went to the nearest mall. As I got there, the first shop I saw was a
huge jewelry shop. There were lots of shiny jewels and a lot of diamonds and gold that are really rare here.
Because of the over exploitation from the last century, jewelry and fossil fuels are very rare, and every transport
we use now is powered by electricity. The second one I saw was an electronic scooter store. There were fancy
scooters and even the newest half-auto flying scooter. What it basically means is that it can’t fly by itself, it has a
joystick to let the driver to control the height and where the scooter is going. As time went past, it was already
ten o’clock, and it was time for me to go home. On the way back home, there was a barbecue booth on the side
of the road. I tried to avoid spending more time because there was still work tomorrow, but because the
barbecue was too attractive, I couldn’t stop myself from going to the barbecue booth for some seductive
barbecue.
Finally, I was all done with my nightlife and it was time to go home. I went on the bus and when I got
home, it was already eleven. Again, this was a fantastic day. I hope tomorrow will still be better – nice day, nice
weather, good sleep and most importantly, a better Greater Bay Area!
