wonder the tourism rate in high, to be honest, Zhuhai is a very busy city like I thought. In Zhuhai, we went to the circus and went to the Ocean Kingdom, the circus had everything like acrobats and clowns. The Ocean Kingdom was magical there were so many different exhibitions of fish and whales but my favourite part was the night parade and the fireworks because I never got to see one in real life but altogether the visit to Zhuhai was better than I expected. In Guandong, we took the train there which was still renovating and then the Greater Bay Area will have one train system connected to each other which will be faster than taking the plane, to be honest Guandong was a very calm place people weren’t running around and stuff people didn’t push you but I liked that. In Guandong we didn’t do many modern activities instead we visited many historical sites but Old Humen caught my eye it was where the government Li Zexu publicly destroyed 2000 boxes of opium in 1839, you can still see the pits where the Lin disposed of the drug haul when I heard that all of this stuff happened during the First Opium War I thought of my doll at home, I am so close to reading the letter i am going to solve this mystery about the Lin. To be honest visiting Guandong was a bit boring but it did change my perspective towards history. 15th of July I got it, I got the scholarship! They called my dad this morning and we celebrated the whole day. The presentation had to be in Cantonesia which was hard, the presentation consisted of photos of the trip, what I learnt, the best part of the trip and I added something of my own that no one had I told the story about my doll and the note. I was finally able to translate it myself with only 6 months of Cantonesia lessons the note said ‘Hello my name is Mei Lin , I am 5 years old and I am a girl , I hope that someone will find my doll Yin Yin and take care of her like I have and love her I have packed her favourite clothes. Please take care of Yin Yin as my grandmother gave it to me before she passed away and she had the same doll when she was a little girl, thank you.’ I showed a picture of the doll on the screen and a photo of the girl and said that the reason I wanted to learn Cantonesia was that I wanted to read this note, then I went back to my seat. When I first came to the Greater Bay Area I thought that it would be a bad thing because of all the news and stuff but it actually brought my family closer since my dad has more job opportunities and my mom doesn’t need to work like Faatima said ‘The Greater Bay Area is like the land of opportunities’ it brings people with different backgrounds and stories in one place to give them a better place like Faatima. The Greater Bay Area is a better place than I thought the environmental issue improved, the transportation system is one of the best in the world and there are more improvements. I feel like when the cities were separated it’s like they hated each other, but now everything is improving and it’s better for everyone the places have their similarities but also the differences that make them stand out like Hong Kong is an expensive place to live in but Guangdong is a place full of rich history. Moving to the Greater Bay Area and travelling to some of the places was eye-opening it made me think to never judge a book by its cover and to give everything and everyone a chance because we can all change for the better.
