The Rise of the Terminators

Guangzhou was in a period of great celebration. Daily parades marched through the crowded streets, every home
and shop was decorated in colorful banners and wreaths, and handfuls of flower petals were thrown and floated
through the air. Everyone smiled, proud of what they have recently accomplished. On the other hand, Hong
Kong and Macau citizens were outrageous. China had taken all their rights and freedom but it was too late to
stop it. Citizens think that they had been limited of their power, but what they did not know was that this was a
path to a brighter future.
It had taken years and years of protesting and violence, but the government had finally come to a conclusion that
had a big influence on Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macau. The government had a vision, perception, they tried
to blend what’s best about mainland China, with what’s best about Hong Kong and Macau. The Greater Bay
Area had access to a wider range of technology thanks to China, had free internet and no restrictions to websites
or applications like "YouTube" or "Facebook" and delicate and local cuisines. Hong Kong has slowly calmed
down after a few years in terms of protesting, nothing much has happened, everyone was glad and Hong Kong
was peaceful after more than 28 years of violence and fighting. But what lies ahead is beyond anything anyone
has seen before.
Did I mention that life is tougher than it was before? There are conflicts all over the world and everyone is
targeting my home. The Greater Bay Area is constantly being attacked by Military forces from all over the world
and it is very hard to survive, I’m one of the lucky survivors. I got enough food to last me for more than 2 years,
I spent a year and a half hiding from a robot invasion and it has been a total disaster...
Back to the near future, it was the 17th of July 2051 when the people of the Greater Bay Area had discovered
new technology and new landmarks. Project "Legion" was deployed, Legion wants to make the future brighter
by creating machines known as "Terminators" to take over our daily lives in a positive way. Scientists gathered
from all over the world were to work on this project, to improve and improvise what they could do to improve
the robot. The robot had features like the ability to speak, move and clone. Scientists classified the terminators for
different uses and needs. The main purpose of the terminators was to assist people in need and be a replacement
for employees. Hardcore scientists and weapon designers believe the robots could do much more... they believe
with more advancements and modification, this robot of the government could turn into a killing machine.
People from the black market smuggled illegal machinery to military services for a high price.
13th of December 2053, the first-ever terminator robot was announced to the public. The news spread as
quickly as a bullet and now you got the American, Japanese and Russian government trying to copy these robots.
For China to stay ahead of everyone else, China sent out terminators to terminate anyone who is a threat to
Legion. These upgraded terminators could calculate all possible outcomes and can improve its rate of success.
It was 5th of January 2054 when the Chinese government realized it was a bad idea to send out the terminators.
The terminators got destroyed, the leftovers of the robot were stolen and were copied to make a more advanced
robot than what Legion could make. China started cybernetic warfare without even knowing, reporters from all
over the world are onto this case and want to reveal the truth, the real reason why the terminators were sent out.
20th March 2054
"Hello, my name is John King. I am a reporter from ABC News. I'm currently inside the Russian military base,
this looks so advanced, the technology here is far too complex and advanced for me to understand, but all I know
is that this ain’t no friendly robot base. There are nuclear weapons and shape shifters in the lab and it’s starting to
creep me out. Taking risks to reveal information is what I do, as you can see, there are lots of professionals here
testing out different robot parts and weapons. This must cost a fortune, I wonder what these so-called
“terminators” are going to be used for, I believe that with all of this possession at hand, this can be put to great
use by a good leader. Hello! It’s nice to meet you, Mr. Cardinal. May I ask the purpose of these robots?” “These
robots designed to execute the simplest of tasks like checking out for customers at a supermarket, teaching kids
knowledge and such” “There are some rumors that you people are up to no good with these machines, like
executing people, fighting wars for us. You got anything to say about that?” Gunshots were fired and the live
broadcast turned off. From this footage, this clearly showed that the military leader did not want to expose their
“evil plan” and was quite obviously up to no good.
