Lee Yuen stood at the front of his boat called “the King Boat”. He was the adopted son of the emperor. When
he was younger, his parents were killed by the former emperor, because in that time, there were many bad
advisers, and his family were the emperors most trusted advisers. The bad advisers told the Emperor his parents
were traitors, and the Emperor listened to them and killed his parents.
Once the new emperor had no children, and came to power. He adopted Lee Yuen as his own son. Lee Yuen
trained to be a sailor and, in time was in charge of the greatest ship of the fleet. And he was next in line to be the
Emperor of China.
Lee Yuen was tall and thin, his long black hair tied up in a bun. Black eyes, six foot tall, strong and well built.
He was an expert in martial arts and was very smart and kind.
He was not liked by most of his crew apart from a few. The two vice captains were the sons of the Emperor's
siblings who thought they should be in charge of the King Boat and next in line for the throne.
The King Boat was setting sail from Fuzhou and heading to Swahili in Africa. Lee Yuen and his crew were
tasked with delivering precious gifts from the Emperor to the leaders of Swahili. If things went well, then new
friendships would be made between China and Africa. However, there was a long journey ahead of them.
Their first stop of the journey was to Macau to get new supplies, but they sailed into a big storm, and 5 sailors
were thrown overboard and lost, because when they were sailing the boat, they were in the front, so they got
knocked over the ship. When they got to macau pier, they repaired the ships wheel which was damaged, and
they built a shelter over the wheel to protect the steerer. Then they met the governor of Macau, they took some
precious things to exchange with the Macau governor. The Macau governor gave them a map to Africa. Lee
Yuen was excited about what they would see in africa. They stayed in Macau for 4 days, they stayed in the
governor's house.
On an early sunny Tuesday morning, Lee Yuen and the King Boat left Macau pier to continue their journey.
They had enough food, water and supplies for a month at sea. So they would have to stop again in Da Nang to
get more supplies. The crew knew that they had a long journey and it would be very dangerous. To keep
themselves happy, the crew played Chinese Chess. They even had a tournament with money as a prize. Shum
Yet, one of the vice captains won the tournament and the prize money.
Just as the King Boat was getting close to Da Nang, a tall ship sailed out of some rocks and was coming straight
towards the King Boat. Lee Yuen was called by his crew to come up to the top. Once he got there he saw that
the flag on top of the ship coming to them was a pirate flag. He recognised the flag of the famous pirate One
Hand Yun, who was famous for being a beastly and vicious leader who killed many. Lee Yuen told his crew to
prepare for battle. Lee Yuen got his sword out and stood at the front ready for a fight.
When the boats got close enough, the pirates jumped over to the King Boat and a serious fight started. both sets
of the crew were evenly matched. Lee Yuen was at one side of the boat and One Hand Yun was at the other.
They saw each other slowly made their way to the middle of the boat. Shum Yet, the jealous vice captain also
saw One Hand Yun. He was much closer to him than Lee Yuen and thought if he could kill the famous pirate
leader, he would become captain of the King Boat. Shum Yet, walked up to One Hand Yun and started to fight.
Unfortunately, One Hand Yun was a much faster and stronger fighter than Shum Yet and after a few strikes,
stabbed Shum Yet through the heart with his sword. By the time Lee Yuen got to One Hand Yun, Shum Yet
was dead. Lee Yuen started to fight One Hand Yun with no weapon, just used both hands and did the Jiu yin
zhen jing to push One Hand Yun into the sea. One Hand Yuen was dead when Lee Yuen push him into the sea.
When the pirate crew saw that their leader had died, they stopped fighting and surrendered to Lee Yuen’s crew.
And they chose the vice captain which is a girl and good at tao hua martial arts. Her family lived in the Tao Hua
