The GBA Korean International School, Robinson, Conor - 12 1st July 2249 As we heard the fireworks go off, I knew that my life will be different. The GBA was officially established. I’m Roger and I’m 13 years old. I couldn’t believe it… the GBA was established! In case you didn’t know, the GBA is The Greater Bay Area, it's a new (sort of) country that was planned and finally made real by Government leaders in China, Hong Kong and Macau. Of course, it's not an actual country, it is only a new area with new boundaries so it will feel like a new place. The new region will have more land than Switzerland, more people in Canada and will contain more business activity than Australia while in a democracy. Also, it is all in the old Macau, China and Hong Kong all put together, it is now known as Cantonesia, yes, it will take some time getting used to the new laws and community. Everything will be extremely cheap and will also be in good quality. I was in my new home, and boy it was huge, it had 5 rooms, 4 toilets with baths, 1 kitchen with everything you will possibly need for cooking, 1 swimming pool and even a Jacuzzi. So far I've been enjoying life in Cantonesia, it had anything you would want. If you wanted to go to a theme park, there are 25 in the whole of the Cantonesia. If you wanted to go to the movies, there are 55 cinemas with every movie available ready for you to watch for a very low price. You know what I mean. Cantonesia had the biggest trading economy in the world. 5 billion CND a month, that's a lot, right? Oh, and the new currency is CND, it stands for Cantonesian Dollars, and the exchange rate to HKD is the same which means stuff can be pretty cheap. The next day I woke up and prepared for school, I could wake up 45 minutes later than usual since buses came with an interval of 2 minutes! Plus, the prices for a bus ride could be as low as 1 CND. You might think the buses will be horrible since the prices are so low. But, you were wrong. The new buses were installed with screens showing traffic conditions and news! One of the best features is the AAS, the Automated Alarm System, it is a system which will vibrate your seat and turn on some lights to remind you to get off, at the start of the ride, you can set where you will get off just in case you sleep in some long rides. Talking about long rides, the seats in the buses can be as comfortable as business class plane rides! (Planes were a transport back in the 2000s, we don't use those anymore, wayyy too slow) Some buses even have toilets! When I arrived at school, I went straight to my classroom and took out my hologram and ELFL, ah yes, we use holograms now so the teacher can monitor what we are doing our work and not playing games. The ELFL is External Light Filtering Lenses. They protect your eyes from the strong blue light that your eyes get exposed to so you don't have to wear glasses as people used to wear back in the 2000s. Coincidentally, this lesson was about how life used to be in the 2000s, man it seemed hard, they had something called "WiFi" it was like this weird invisible connection thing, and you couldn't walk away like 50 metres or it can't connect. To me, that's just stupid since now we have WaiFly, with infinite range. To use your phone, you had to charge it, that's just weird. You also had to plug in your "Ps4". Unlike now we can just bring a foldable ps4 that doesn't need charged or plugged in. Well, I think that's enough of being rude to the past. But sometimes, I think there's too much tech in the Cantonesia. Schools nowadays have very professional teaching while having very low school fees that can be as low as 2,000 CNE a month. Unlike the past, the toilets are very clean and can be as high quality as hotel toilets. Plus, food in the canteen is high quality and not bad. (hooray) If the food is so good, it might take time to cook, which meant long lines, you might be thinking. But no, even when the food is kept for a long time, they are still in good quality thanks to new tech, so lines can be very short. Also, there are 3 lines you can line up in. In my school, the teachers teach so well that there are zero bullies or anything bad. As well as all this modern tech, the government has done a good job to keep amazing sceneries and nature itself such as the fascinating yellow mountains. History itself has also been well looked after such as the Great Wall of China and The Forbidden City.
