go wrong. Also, I don’t have a lot of money, so I could only afford a small wooden boat, with no navigational equipment. If I go east, Taiwan seems to be the best option, but it seems to be a bit too close to China. Like going west, I’m most likely to be caught by patrols. I could go further into South Korea or Japan, but since they’re very far away, I’m probably won’t survive the process. After a few hours of investigation, I found a destination and made a plan. Okinawa. It is between Taiwan and Japan, so the journey wouldn’t be too long. I gather supplies like food and water first, and sneak into the coastline with a boat, then make my way to Taiwan stealthily. I will sell the boat brought before to get some local currency, then make my way across the other side of Taiwan, gather more supplies and proceed my journey to Okinawa. There are lots of small islands between Okinawa and Taiwan, so if anything goes wrong, I have somewhere to go. This plan sounds complete. I’ll start my operations here. Reducing the chances of getting caught, I sent a letter to work saying that I will take a break from work and decide if I will come back or not. I believe by the chance they receive the letter, I would be already in Okinawa, creating the perfect excuse. Before the day I escape, I have located a boat shop near the coast. The fact that almost nobody knows me, is definitely going to decrease the chances of getting exposed. 11th of February, 2030. I’ve reached near the coast. There is a wall guarded by masked troops. Behind this huge piece of rock, I’ve made noises in hopes of drawing a guard out of the border. It worked. I silently struck him down with a small knife, and wore his clothes. I made my way to the wall, informing the other guards it was just a wild dog. After staying there for around 10 minutes, I told them I need to use the toilet and ran off to the coast. I brought a small wooden boat and head off to Taiwan. A few hours past and nothing much happened. Luckily there aren’t any strong waves so I’m fine for now. “Beep! Beep! Beep!” What sound is that? “Beep!” Have I been spotted? “Beep” Oh dear… “Wake up! You’re going to be late for school!” I woke up in a pool of sweat, found myself in my room. That was a dream? It felt so real...Was that the future…? It can’t be…or was it?
