Rosa threw the Alien’s primary objective crystal into the lake. It made a plop sound on entry and slowly descended to the lake bed then submerged under the soft, sanded kelp weeds. It was over. The Alien’s couldn’t find the crystal now. It was unlikely to be found buried in the lake bed. Felix put an arm on her shoulder and they both looked at the beautiful sunset and sighed with relief.
