A Typical Adventure Victoria Shanghai Academy, Chiu, Hing Man - 8 It was a bright sunny day when I woke up with a start. I glanced at the clock of my room. 8:30am! I couldn’t believe I woke up so late! 8:50 was our hiking time. Oh, I was so excited. I can’t wait to have another great adventure! “Here we are!” I said. We got to the hiking area. There were tall trees and beautiful flowers, and it was wonderful! But it was not so excellent along the way. We were HUFFING and PUFFING as we walked through bus stations, taxi stations and even some people smoking. I thought I was going to faint. It was a DISASTER for us. It was hard work too. On the top of the mountains, I saw a hole. I was concerned and shouted: “Who is here?” Well, I didn’t want to waste any time, so I walked into the cave. And I spotted a time machine. It was so spooky when we got there. I remembered my first step. And my first step was unbelievable. I accidentally stepped into a hole and BAM! I fell. I tripped. I slipped. It was so painful. I tried to hold back my tears. I opened my eyes, and my vision swam. As I sat on the cold icy floor, I thought: “Who could be so nasty and dig a hole?” But I didn’t give up. With endless pain, l got up. Weakly and slowly, I pressed the button on the time machine that said 2030. I didn’t realise I was pressing the wrong button. And something wrong happened. Way wrong. The machine spun me around. I opened my eyes. Trash everywhere. Garbage everywhere. Was this the place? The sign said: “Great bay area’s garbage place. Caution! Do not enter”. But I entered. It wasn’t as spooky as I thought. But I saw the most poisonous and the most longest snake. “If I wake him up, I would be dead.” I thought. Oh no! Someone entered the garbage place! He dumped the garbage on the floor. BWOOONG!!! SPOOOING!!! “HISSSS!” went the snake. No no no, I thought. Great Bay Area is supposed to be a beautiful place. But there was no time to think. I leaped into the wall. BANG!!! It was so painful. I jumped again. BANG!!! The snake was one millimetre close. I jumped even higher. Success! I ran and I ran and I ran. I saw the time machine! Ah, so this was the Great Bay Area. Trees everywhere. Flowers everywhere. I saw many high speed trains that can go 320 km per hour and lots of buildings. I especially liked the Tower of Great Bay Area (TTGBA). I took one last look at the future and I jabbed the button. I was suddenly home again. Was this a dream? It was a dream, but we need to reflect on our actions to protect our environment! Besides, it was a wonderful adventure to the Great Bay Area!
