want to make it up to you.”
Mum determinedly gazed at the small path leading to the forest. She darted towards it and started
hammering on some wood.
“Mum? What are you doing?”
Before long, there was a beautiful sign in front of the rocky pathway, and it said, ‘Pathway to the
magical world of 5G technology.’ Jefflyn’s jaw dropped to the ground.
Then she burst into tears, flung her arms around her mum’s neck and held her tight.
Epilogue
“Hello, Robot Josh!”
Words filled the sky as the sun started to rise. The path was now very flat and full of footprints, and
the wooden sign was half-eaten by ants. However, the whole village and the whole forest were bustling
with happiness. Some people in the village were fiddling with machinery, some robots in the forest were
doing some religious dances, and the villagers were laughing loudly at their amusing performances.
However, Jefflyn turned to Sockie.
“I know this is going to sound cheesy, but I just wanted to tell you what a great friend you were
that day. Thank you for risking your life in the unknown just to accompany me.”
Sockie looked like she was about to cry. Tears filled her eyes as she hugged Jefflyn.
And for the first time in ages, Jefflyn felt truly happy.
