The Tapestry, The Girl and The Mapestry Victoria Shanghai Academy, Chan, Pearly - 9 Ding dong! When Kim heard the doorbell, she rushed to the front door of her house. When she opened it, she saw no one. Just as she was closing it, she saw something out of the corner of her eye. It was a tapestry on the doorstep, but only half of it. She looked up at the sky, asking “What did you send me?” Then she bent down to pick it up, but it flew up into her hands itself. “Cool,” she whispered. She studied it with wide eyes. It was very old and it had a picture at the back. She could see herself in the picture, and her mum before she died, but on her shoulder was another hand. She couldn’t see the rest because the tapestry only showed half of the picture. She noticed that there was a note written on the back. “That’s mommy’s handwriting!” She realised. “But… she’s dead…” Kim read aloud “Find your brother, you will see, then you’ll find the tapestry?” Kim scratched her head. What did this mean? Kim suddenly had a horrifying thought. Was her brother a ghost? She shuddered at the thought, but Kim desperately wanted an adventure. So she went inside, packed some things she might need, and stepped out the door. Kim looked around. Just when she was going to take one more step, she heard something in the alley. Her eyes flashed towards it… but there was no one. Kim slowly walked towards the alley. From the movies she had seen, people say stuff in these situations. So Kim called “Come out, whoever you are!” There was silence for a moment. But then a person came out and slowly walked towards Kim. Kim, too terrified to move, stood there. Then, suddenly, she felt dizzy. When she woke, her head banged against something hard, something cold. Kim woke up to see herself in a cave with two doors. The back door and the front door. Then, unexpectedly, the back door flew open. There was no one. Kim’s heart froze. The person walked in. He started walking towards her, his face covered by a pitch black mask. He began to remove it when Kim realised, if she didn’t do anything, she could be stuck here forever! She suddenly raced to the front door of the cave-like house and opened it. When she opened the door, she immediately felt as if she was in heaven. The fresh air...the view of Chimelong Ocean Kingdom... Wait a minute, Chimelong Ocean Kingdom? Kim almost fainted! That was far from where she lived! She forced herself to calm down. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, opened her eyes, and looked around. The person was coming yet again. Kim could feel her feet shaking. Before she knew it, she was running across the field. She could see the entrance to Chimelong Ocean Kingdom. “Maybe I could lose him there.” She muttered to herself. She changed her direction and started running into the entrance of Chimelong Ocean Kingdom. She looked around for a place to hide. A sign caught her attention. “ The Reversing Rollercoaster: The scariest ride in Ocean Kingdom! It was located down a dark alley. “Perfect!” Kim thought. There was no one there when Kim arrived, so she walked down the alley. She heard a rustle somewhere behind an old, rundown stall. She whipped her head around… Nothing. Kim laughed. “Nothing but the wind!” She said. She continued on the road confidently. A bush rustled. Kim turned to see… Nothing again! Kim started to get a little nervous. “Nothing but the wind...nothing but the wind…” But she saw a shadow approaching her, and she knew she was wrong. The person came out again. He had been following her the whole time! Kim backed away with the person in front of her. The person again began to pull off his mask. Kim wanted to run, but she could feel a wall behind her. She was trapped. Kim could feel her heart in her throat. Her knees shivered, not just because of the cold. The person ripped off his mask while Kim held her breath… A boy with dark hair and brown eyes was revealed. He came closer to Kim, but stopped. Kim looked down at where he was looking and saw that the boy’s eyes were on the tapestry! Kim stuffed it into her bag… too late. The boy had seen it. Kim was going to ask what he wanted when his hands revealed something. Kim could see that the boy was holding a piece of paper. When she looked closer, she saw that it was half of a tapestry. And get this… it was the other half of Kim’s tapestry! The boy spoke. “Do you know who I am?” he asked.
