Saying Hello to the GBA St Francis of Assisi's English Primary School, Li, Tsz Kiu - 11 A trip to the Greater Bay Area Ugh! Just another ruin-my-summer trip! Just as my parents said that we were going to the Greater Bay area, I knew it was bad news. China had always given me a not-so-safe impression, with lots of criminals and people whose dress sense was out of vogue. But our luggage is ready ,and we will set off in an hour. Everyone in the house was excited, bordering on being hyper, because of this trip. We set off in West Kowloon. It was then I first saw the High Speed Rail. The High Speed Rail seemed... no different from any other train. I was imagining hours trapped on it with no entertainment. But when I got on the train, I was shocked. The seats were new and beautiful. The service was excellent. There were even food carts on the train. On the train, I started doing some research on the Greater Bay Area. Well I figured, I had to know at least where I am going. I was blown away. I started to suspect the GBA might just be simply gorgeous. After a few hours of research and admiring the scenery, we settled down in Zhuhai. We were very tired when we arrived. From my research, I found out that Zhuhai was the most livable city in China. It is a migrant city with many residents. We booked a hotel in the Chime Long Ocean Kingdom. On the way to the resort, I saw many breathtaking rides and aquariums. A large aquarium there allows guests to view the rare whale shark, beluga whales, polar bears, and other adorable animals up close! Although we were all very excited, we needed to wait until tomorrow to enjoy the park. The Chimelong Penguin hotel has a beautiful rainbow patterned exterior wall with penguin themed suites. I admired the magnificent details of the room with satisfaction. The next day, we hung out in the theme park and had a good time. After playing, we went to the Zhuhai race track. It is very famous. My feelings about the Greater Bay Area changed a lot. We eagerly took the High Speed Rail to our next destination — DongGuan. DongGuan is known as a former world factory and acts as a tech hub in the GBA. It has very advanced technology. Firstly, we went to Songshan lake. Walking around the lake made us feel comfortable and relaxed. Then, we went to the Opium War Museum. The exhibitions covers a huge area and displays cultural relics, historical pictures, oil paintings, elaborate-style paintings and high-tech items. I learnt a lot about the war. The next day, we headed off to Huizhou. Huizhou has many attractions that are suitable for all ages. We went to the Huizhou museum. There were many unique exhibits. I even saw a dragon egg model! Afterwards, we went to Huizhou Xunliao Bay. It was peaceful and quiet around the beach. We had a great afternoon bathing in the sun. Then, we went to Huizhou West Lake and walked around it. The city we went to next was the one I longed to go to the most — Macao. It was once a Portuguese colony, so it has many special food and people that are of Portuguese descent. The ruins of St.Paulʼs is a very well-known place in Macao. We took a lot of beautiful photos and had a great time. Macao is famous for its tourism. I think the hotels are really beautiful and the attractions are special. Standing on the Macao Tower Convention and Entertainment Centre feasted my eyes with the whole scenery of Macao. The following day, we went to Shenzhen by High Speed Rail. First, we went to the Splendid China Folk Village. I learnt about different ethnic minorities. In the afternoon, we went to the Windows of the World. It has the reproductions of world-famous attractions. Another popular thing about China is shopping. Many men and women like to shop in the big shopping centres of Shenzhen. We had loads of fun too. Shenzhen has different categories of attractions. We played in Shenzhen happy village. The last day of the trip, we went to Guangdong. Guangdong is the administrative hub in the Greater Bay Area. We watched a show of Chinese opera. The makeup was very special. Then, we went to the Temple of the Six Banyan Trees. It was built in year 537! What a well preserved place!
