Twenty-five years later Leila was old now, and had retired. She was renowned for being a major contributor to the education of adolescents, and was known worldwide. The Greater Bay Area was now the most environmentally friendly place on Earth with a thriving economy. She was still grateful to the government for giving her a chance to be successful in life, for creating a place that gave people of all cultures hope to better their own lives, and for providing them all with the best work opportunities. Future Ways of Communication with Distant Relatives Singapore International School, Mak, Chun Ho - 11 Ah, the joys of communication! Just think of it! Communication can allow us to contact our family members, our relatives, our friends, and many other people we know, even if we are as far as a hundred miles apart. In the Greater Bay Area, I can give my experience of wanting to talk to my relatives. My greataunt and uncle live in Zhaoqing, which is extremely far away from Hong Kong. Starting since I was young, I have always wanted to talk to them or even just face-time with them because I only see them thrice per year. Since this development of the Greater Bay Area, Hong Kong has gotten plenty of opportunities to grow, expand and to create better technology for the future. One of the ideas that most people have in mind, like me, is creating better ways of communication. For example, using satellites to send messages. But, can there be even more innovative ideas that can be used? At this point, we all know that the answer is yes. Unfortunately, we do not know what can be made. Maybe the local government of each region in the Greater Bay Area could start brainstorming about what they could do for their cities. An innovative idea I have been thinking of is creating a network in which we, humans, can send our thoughts to one another. This may seem impossible, but scientists and technologists are already working on this, especially because this can be extremely convenient. We do not need to take out our mobile phones and we can just think about what we want to say to the person we are trying to talk to, and the person will immediately receive the message. Wouldn’t that be easy? Another idea is that we can use high-tech radars to produce sound waves to other people to communicate with them. The radars can also translate the sound waves to us, and we can understand what the other person is trying to say. This idea may not be as convenient as the thought-communicating idea, but it can be made earlier as it is not as high-tech. But we must all think back to the beginning. Why are the cities of the Greater Bay Area so desperate for new ways of communication? It is because the citizens need to pass information to each other, especially if something important is happening in a specific city, family members are sick, office work plans, playtime with friends, etc. These are the main reasons why not only in the Greater Bay Area, but around the whole world, communication matters a lot.
