‘Ladies and gentlemen, the airplane will land in five minutes in the Great Bay Area!’ says the cabin crew . I
look out of the window and look on the street, while my memories goes back to the year of 2020 - the
time I spent my childhood in the Great Bay Area. BEEP!! I suddenly hear the sound and realize the plane
has landed. I step out of the airplane and feel that the fresh air runs into my body just like the strong wind
blowing outside. ‘It must be a windy day today,’ I whisper to myself, and walk out of the airport holding my
clothes tighter. It’s 2040 now, 20 years later from the time I left this place.
I look around and around. It’s sooo different from twenty years ago! I can’t see any rubbish bins! I can only
see lots of white sweeping robots cleaning the street. They put the rubbish inside their ‘tummy’ and bring
the rubbish to the factory to burn them into dust. I can’t believe my eyes! The technology is sooo great
now! I still remember people need to put the rubbish into the rubbish bin twenty years ago. It was sooo
smelly and time consuming! But now today at the Great Bay Area, I can put the rubbish into the sweeping
robots’ ‘tummy’ right away. I keep walking in the street. I see many special robots with big ‘eyes’ walking in
the street too. ‘What are they doing?’ I asked the other man beside me. ‘They’re helping the police officers
to patrol the street with their big cameras!’ I suddenly realize their big eyes are the cameras! Walking around
the corners, I see a little cabin nearby. The policemen inside are searching the crime from the robots’ camera
videos. ‘These robots are so helpful! They can do a lot of things to help people, but how do we help them?’
I ask this question to myself. At the same time, I happen to pass by a place crowded with a lot of robots.
‘What is that?’ I asked to a little girl beside. ‘It is the place where all the robots can come to get charged
anytime they need. It is our caring house for the robots,’ said the little girl. I am so curious to this robots
caring house and walk closer to it. The robots can be charged in 30 seconds! At the house, some people are
helping the robots to clean themselves, and some other people are dressing up the robots. I also see a lot of
kids are playing with the robots. What a great time! Then I am hungry! Time for some yummy food at the
Great Bay Area! I step inside a restaurant and get shocked that there’re NO cashiers! And there’s only ONE
robot on the counter. There’re NO waiters too! I can only see the robots moving on the ground to deliver
the food to the customers. I order a pizza and a bowl of salad. The waiter robot gives the food to me very
quickly. I finish the food very quickly too because it is so yummy and I am starving. I pay the cashier robot
40$ and go out to do some sports in the park. In the evening, I see a poster about a creating competition
when I am walking in the park. It is such a great chance to discover more about this place. At the
competition site, there’re a lot of people. I can see teenagers, adults, elders and children. I think it is at least
one and a half thousand people in it. They all have diverse ideas and things. I can see a ‘car-plane’,a ‘robot
schoolbag’, a ‘robot nanny’ and so on. I think the technology has improved so much during the past 20
years. I feel very proud of the people here. After this whole day in the Great Bay Area, I am so excited! I
feel that human and robots are balanced and treat each other just like good friends. It’s also a large area full
of diversity. Different people with different ideas come here and work together, and they can create many
different things! I think the Great Bay Area will be the centre of our future technology. There are lots of
talents who are full of passion to create a lot of good things and to make our life happier and our country
stronger. I hope the Great Bay Area will be a real ‘bay’ that will keep human safe from the flood of failure
because the Great Bay Area is a place full of knowledge, great science technology and lots of people who
want to make our country better!
