The Greater Bay Area (GBA) is a collection of cities in the south of China. These cities include Shenzhen,
Dongguan, Macau and Hong Kong along with seven others. The government of China wanted the GBA to
be an exquisite, international innovation and a financial hub by the year 2035. Now in 2037 that has
become a reality, GBA has successfully united the eleven cities. Currently, it is a collection of bustling and
sparkling streets filled with the sounds of laughter and joy. It is full of beautiful towering skyscrapers, clean
and solar technology with an abundance of schools, buildings and offices taller than mountains for people to
live, learn and work. In all the different cities, there are one of a kind landmarks, for example, Xunliao bay,
the New Yuan Ming Palace, the Guangzhou Opera House along with other spectacular features including
famous sites, museums, malls and statues. It has become a seamless blend of different Chinese culture with
influences from all over the world to make everyone feel at home. Living here in the GBA is joyous and
everyone is part of the fantastic community.
The most exotic places you can visit in the GBA would be Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Dongguan and Macau.
Starting with Hong Kong, there are heaps of places to tour, for example, the ICC or IFC, the tallest
buildings in the city that include industrial modern malls full of fascinating stores and fancy restaurants. If
you prefer something closer to nature, there is Lantau Island. Other sites worthy of a visit are Victoria Peak,
Victoria Harbour and the Tian Tan Buddha. If you are more interested in thrilling activities, there is the
theme park loved by all - Disneyland and all its famous characters, or Ocean Park with crazy roller coasters,
ferris wheels, water rides, and many other rare beautiful animals! The GBA is not just about Hong Kong, of
course, there is the Zhuhai bridge that connects to Macau and Guangzhou. Macau is known for its luxurious
entertainment - fireworks and carprixes. Their brightly lit casinos, especially the infamous Venetian is a
must-visit. Macau also has a variety of Western and Asian food, for example, pork chop bun and African
chicken.
Other famous cities in the GBA similar to Hong Kong and Macau are Shenzhen and Dongguan, these other
two shining stars of the area are also filled with exciting places to visit. Shenzhen used to be a fishing village
600 years ago, but now it has evolved into a giant metropolis full of skyscrapers. It has developed many
advanced new types of technology and progressed in architecture, along with having built the Ping An
Finance Centre. Entertainment wise, they also have special theatre events and light shows with dragon and
lion dances, where everyone from the corners of the GBA are attracted to view the spectacular show. The
last and final most exciting city of the GBA is Dongguan, known as the “World Factory” or “Eastern
Amsterdam”. It attracts many international businessmen and entrepreneurs as it is the world's seventeenth
most popular city and it thrives in the manufacturing industry.
Transportation in the GBA is extremely convenient, courtesy of the futuristic underwater trains connected
to airports and city centres. New bridges are also being built to connect each and every city together. It
makes travelling simple and it does not pollute the environment thanks to it all being electric and solarpowered,
even the buses and cars! The motto of this area is to be considerate and accepting of each other
and the precious environment.
The GBA community is tolerant and hard-working. Poverty rates have dropped since the cooperation of
the eleven great cities. They have all supplied and helped by donating money and basic needs to families
living in subdivided flats. Helping everyone out of poverty and live like the average family we see today. In
addition, everyone abides by the law and accepts one another. There is no racism and people are free to
choose whichever culture they wish to embrace. The main language of the GBA is mostly Cantonese and
Mandarin, but you are free to speak to others too. Usually, citizens celebrate all types of festivals and
traditions from Thanksgiving to Mid Autumn Festival, but the one that we all hold dearest is without a
doubt, Chinese New Year. During this busy time, family members give the highly anticipated red packets to
everybody and they dine out, feasting on traditional Chinese New Year dishes. The entire family celebrates
with new clothes and activities for all, including a movie night on the last day of the month.
Food in the GBA is diverse, although Chinese is the main cuisine found, citizens desire healthy and
multinational dishes, and the GBA does not fail to impress. The best dishes come from Shenzhen, where all
famous Chinese dishes come from - Shajin oysters, seafood hot pot and Cantonese dim sum. International
