Future Adventures of the Greater Bay Area PLK HKTA Yuen Yuen Primary School, Ng, Jay Chun - 9 One day in Macau, I and my friends scout team are going on a picnic. The scout teacher said that we will have a 2 hours journey to the countryside but he won’t join. We went on a shuttle bus and off we go! After 2 hours, we arrived at the picnic spot. We are split into three groups and I sat on the mat with my group mates, our scout teacher told us that we need to leave there at 6:00pm. Our group played too much, so we didn’t realize that it was 8:00pm already. We tried to wait for transportation but it was too late. First, we decided to walk back to the scout centre. We tried our best but after we walked about 1 km, the street lights were all turned off. The worst thing is, we didn’t bring a torch with us. Next, we are stuck in the middle of the road. There are many trees around, we planned to build a wooden car by using our scout skills. Even we built the frame of the car, we don’t have the metal and electronic parts and the frame will disapart easily. Last, one of my group mates said that we should wait for the other day to return back. We went to a grassland near the main road for rest. It was very hard for me to sleep there because I am so worried about if there is no transportation on the other day. At this moment, I remember my Mom told me that we should always think positive and keep going forward. These sounds made me feel comfortable and I fall asleep finally. Chirp-chirp! It was morning. We wake up and we saw a taxi passing through. The taxi driver saw us and wondered why we were there. We told him that we need to leave there and asked if he could give us a help. The taxi driver was a good man, he sent us back to the city. At the same time, our teacher in the scout center was worried about us so much. Shortly after, we arrived the scout center. We really thank you the taxi driver to take us back safely. We can’t wait to run into the scout center. While our teacher picked up the phone and make a phone call, we opened the door. Our teacher was surprised and said, “You’re back! I am so worried about you all!” We told him what happened last night, our teacher felt sweated but he thought that is a good experience for us. After returning home, I told my Dad and Mom about this adventures, they said, “We are so proud of you and your group mates, all of you are brave! You never give up and found the right way!” I am so happy. If we will have picnic again, I will remind myself to look at the time always to avoid such case happens again.
