Chapter 1: A ‘Fun’ Trip
The door knocked. Cathy was outside. I ran to the door and opened it.
“Hey, Cathy! Ready to go hiking?” I asked.
“Of course! Let’s go!” She answered.
I ran back into the house to get my backpack. I was super excited!
“Remember to take your sandwich with you!” Mom screamed from the kitchen.
“Yes, thanks for reminding!” I answered.
“Be back by six!” Mom said.
“Okie dokie!” Little did I know that I would make history on that day.
I ran outside. Cathy was there waiting for me. We were going hiking on an artificial mountain in the
Greater Bay Area. We took an air taxi to get to the mountain.
We arrived at the base of the mountain. We got our trainers and did some warm up exercises.
“Ready?” I asked.
“Better than ever!” She answered.
Chapter 2: The Mysterious Cave
We began our climb. We climbed and climbed. There was some difficult sections, but we got there. We
were exhausted, but we didn’t stop.
It was all going smooth. It all changed when we saw a mysterious cave near a cliff. We were shocked.
“Whoa, that isn’t normal.” Cathy said.
“We’re adventurers, right? Let’s get in there!” I said.
“You’re sure about this?” She said.
“C’mon, you’re scared? Be brave and get in there! Who knows what we’ll find in there?” I said.
“Well, okay fine.” She said.
We went into the cave. It was pitch dark in the cave. I searched in my pocket to find my flashlight. We
continued walking inside.
