Future Adventures of the Greater Bay Area PLK HKTA Yuen Yuen Primary School, Kung, Chloe Yin Ching - 10 Chapter 1: Brainstorming Michelle stared at her window, holding a pencil thinking of a story to write. She needs to hand in her writing homework tomorrow but had no ideas. She stared at her window, not knowing what to write. She felt drowsy from the warm sunlight that shines onto her skin. Her vision became blurry. Her eyes began to droop. “No! I've got to continue my story, the only problem is I don't know what to do!” She smacked her face again and again. She moaned, “How am I supposed to do this within a day?” (Just for your information, Michelle is a slow writer, when she writes, she needs a week to finish her story but her story is hardly 100 words.) Her eyes couldn't resist the warmth. Her brain could not stop her eyes from closing. Finally, her eyes fastened shut… Chapter 2: Arriving In Macau The next day, she found herself at a cold, frozen lake. “W-where am I? Why a-am I here? Wait, what has happened? Where is this place? I... I don’t get it. Why am I here? Where are my parents? Oh no! I’m stranded in this place! What am I supposed to do?” stuttered Michelle, trembling in the cold, frosty wind, with just a small amount of clothes… She was so afraid without her parents. It was nighttime and she nowhere to sleep. She wrapped her arms with her hands, shivering. There were shadows shifting around her, owls were hooting, bats were flying above her head. She was in the middle of nowhere. Suddenly, she heard a crack somewhere. “Oh no!” she squealed. The frozen lake is breaking down! (cracks) “AAAAHHHHH! SOMEBODY HELPPPPPPP MEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” shrieked Michelle …Just as she fell, a hand grabbed her by the wrist and dragged her out of the cold water. “Who are you?” asked Michelle. The teenage boy responded, “ I am Alexander Evans. I’m 18. You can call me Alex instead. I am the son of the Prime Minister here in Macau. What are you doing here in the middle of the night? And in the middle of a frozen lake?” “Umm… I was-wwas... here already when I opened... my eyes and I was-ww waas... at the-tthe lake already...” trembled Michelle. “Here you go,” Alex handed his fur coat to her, “Are you warm now?” “ Yeah, I’m feeling better, thanks to your warm coat.” chuckled Michelle, “Oh, I forgot, I’m Michelle Clark, I’m 15 and just a villager in town, nothing special, my mother is a doctor and ummm... I don’t have a father(sighs)… My father passed away in a car accident when I was two…” she sighed. “I feel sorry for you… It must have been hard for you to adapt this sadness in your heart for so many years…” Alex admitted. “ Nevermind, this had past thirteen years and we don’t need a flashback. We need to look forward to the bright future instead.” declared Michelle. “ Uhh… wait a second, where is this place?” asked Michelle. “We are in Macau now. Let’s eat some food. I’m getting hungry. By the way, since you are not familiar here, let me take you to some famous or special food that we can eat.” Alex exclaimed. He grabbed her by the hand and ran like a lightning bolt. Chapter 3: The Tour They ran over forests and mountains and finally arrived at a magnificent city with bright, colorful and beautiful lights. The city was busy with motorcycles running on the road, vehicles with its own special honk and people chatting, Michelle was astonished by its difference than the city back home. It was quiet and peaceful, and here had only one word to describe Macau: Busy. Although it was busy and crowded there, the view was beautiful too. Michelle stared in awe. It is sooo splendid. The blue sky makes a beautiful atmosphere in Macau and the sun shone on deep blue sea.
