“This plan will never work out! Just forget it!” he screamed as he stood up and stormed out the door.
BANG! He slammed the door and went away.
There was a new plan the government leaders were planning. They wanted to make a new place with
boundaries so it would be like a fresh new place which they call GBA (Greater Bay Area) by combining
Southern China, Hong Kong, and Macau.
This new place was a new start for a lot of people. This place had high-speed rail lines and people take the
bicycle as well. This way if people had to travel far they could be quick but if it wasn’t a long-distance ride
they could save energy and lower the pollution by taking the bicycle. There are also great public facilities.
There is a sports center that is outdoors and indoors in each place, swimming pools are also very commonly
seen. Buildings are tall and grand. This is a great fresh start.
The thing is this was planned in detail and took a very long time. Now, they need a name for this new
place. None of their ideas work at all. Some people suggested Cantoneisa because it was the main language.
However, others wanted something special or different. So they have been debating over this for a while
now. The governor got so fed up that he went out.
At the next meeting, no one had anything to say when one of them said, “How about we hold a contest
and get some suggestions from the people since it will be their home after all.” They had a vote and all of
them agreed.
So, they put up posters, did some advertising and got a lot of people to suggest a name of their choice.
Soon, the names were piling up. At the deadline, there were 2230 entries. All the government leaders had a
tough job on picking ten names for the people to choose from.
At last, they agreed on ten entries. People had three days to think and vote the day after that. People all
rushed to line up to vote, hoping the name they voted for would win and be an official name of the
amazing place.
The votes were counted and it was a close race. “Cantoneneisa Bay” got 3200 votes when the second place
got 37 less.
So the people got a final answer and didn’t need to worry about this anymore. Now, all the people could
live in this amazing new fresh place with zooming transport, grand buildings, and facilities that would make
you feel like home in no time.
