The Adventure of the Greater Bay Area Kennedy School, Wong, Isabelle - 10 Chapter 1 “Did we HAVE to move?”Groaned Cheryl. It had been four and a half hours since they left their homeland- Tagia Fields, where everything is perfect. Cheryl simply adored Tagia Fields, as it’s personality of the people living there were so unique. “Well, Cheryl,” Mum replied hurriedly, as if Cheryl was annoying her. “I would’ve moved to a different location, that would be closer to Tagia Fields, but technically, since were escaping YOUR deceitful dad, then yes, I’d say we’d have to .” Are you calling dad a ‘bimbo’? Cheryl wondered angrily. Dad has always been supportive of Cheryl, even if she did something demonic; for example- Whacking Mum with a baseball bat. (Mum had to go to the hospital for the second time` (First time was also Cheryl. And the bat. )I know, very mental. ) “Well, at least tell me where we’re going,” said Cheryl resolutely. Secretly rolling her eyes, Mum responded- “Greater Bay. In China.” “ Tne greatly what?” “I SAID THE GREATER BAY IN CHINA.” Mum snapped. “What the heck is that place?” “I’ll explain when we get there.” In minutes, ( Which was actually half an hour); Cheryl’s car skittered to a halt, slamming Cheryl to the back seat. “ID please Mam’ am.” Inquired a ticket guy or something. Cheryl silently eyed Mum, who was snatching her ID out of her Hermes ‘shocking pink’ bag. Cheryl knew that if Mum was in a situation where she had a choice to save her Hermes bag or her daughter, Mum would’ve ought to go for the bag. It’s her prized possession. As Mum’s window slid upwards, Cheryl gazed in awe of the sun, which signalled the magpies to sing; while the sun was rising. “Where are we?” “We’ve just gone past the border of China, so to keep the story short, were in China.” Unpacking things was an appalling nightmare for Cheryl, not just because of carrying boxes in and out, but because of Mum being so commanding. “Cheryl!” called Mum hurriedly, beckoning Cheryl to come to her. “Let me guess, it’s carrying out boxes.” exasperated Cheryl. “Nah,” Mum said. “It’s to see your new room.” Cheryl’s room walls were splotched with a baby blue tone, while her floor was in hazel, squeaking everywhere she went. Her bedroom window glistened with rays of golden sunlight, while cool air managed to get hold of Cheryl’s room. “It’s-It’s beautiful!”Cheryl exclaimed, astonished of the sight. “If you want to keep it, then you better start unpacking your furniture,” Mum instructed strictly. “Yass Mum,” Cheryl replied, before dashing towards their Maroon-blue car. A few minutes later, Cheryl returned, carrying hulking boxes, bigger than a gorilla. “You know I could use some help right?” “I guess” shrugged Mum. As Cheryl unpacked her clothes, humid air withered in her room. “Mum, can we set the temperature to 20º?” Cheryl requested urgently, sweating rapidly.
