Future Adventures of the Greater Bay Area

20 years before, everything was a surprise in the Greater Bay Area. But now, technology and automatic
systems are used everywhere in our daily lives. So now, let me bring you through the developments of the
Greater Bay Area for the past 20 years.
I’ll conclude all things into 5 columns: our clothing, our housing, our transport, our daily and our city
plan. First, due to the awareness of pollution had risen, we started to wear more simple and environmental
friendly than how we wore 20 years ago. Fewer and fewer decorations are used and natural dye are used
instead of man-made artificial dye. Also, cotton is now the main material for cloths but not man-made fiber
anymore. People can be more comfortable in cotton and it is better for our planet too. The government had
also stop the factories to use leather or animal fur for clothing. A major change had appear and we made a
big step forward to saving the Earth.
Second, the housing problem had been solved by making 5 buildings into a small group. They share the
same garden, playground and carpark. Groups also stick closely so that we won’t waste up space. Every
building has roughly 50-55 floors, which provides a sufficient place for many families to live.
Third, I believe that transport are closely connected to our daily lives. Connected with the above point,
every 2 groups have a bus stop and every 3 groups have a railway station. With more stations, residents can
travel in the territories quick and easily. Frequent shifts are also very efficient in the morning and the
evening. The government had made a decision of reducing private cars and promoted public transport
instead. I think it was a smart move because it helps to clean the Earth effectively.
Now to the most important part, how do we live! Supermarkets are now controlled by technology. We
pay at the counter ourselves by using our phones or bank number. Machines tell us where the things we
want to buy are. If you have any questions, just type it in and it will give you the answer quickly. Shops are
now only full of customers, not assistants. Everything has it’s own automatic system now. So, how do we
work now? We still work in offices, but what people do is only checking if the office system is working
properly. Business problems, cooperation with other companies, price argue …… These problems are all
easily solved by computer. Isn’t it great?
Last, many architecture are moved underground, such as pedestrian road, small shops, tutoring club and
even some schools! Higher and higher multipurpose building towered in the city. They are normally 70
floor high. The first 10-15 floor is for shopping malls, 15-20 floors are used for restaurants and cusine, 20-
40 floors are for business and office , and the last 30 floors are used for hotel. Only one tower has already lots
of uses, so lives are much more convenient than 20 years ago.
I would now want to do a small conclusion. Time flew and developments of the Greater Bay Area gave
me a lot of surprises. l hope people will cherish this amazing society and also keep going to save the Earth
from global warming. Greater Bay Area is always a place full of possibilities.
