Future Adventures of the Greater Bay Area

There is a brand new region in the GBA (Greater Bay Area), which is located at south-eastern China. It
contains Hong Kong, Macau and the nine municipalities of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan,
Huizhou, Dongguan, and Zhongshan in Guangdong province. The new area has more land than
Switzerland, more people than Canada, and will contain more business activity than the whole of Australia.
And, also, the area doesn’t have a name yet and it doesn’t have a certain spoken language. So, I, as a citizen
of this new region, have some interesting ideas and suggestions for the government.
My family, my friends and I live in this unnamed area and the government has given us chance to
give suggestions for the new area’s name and spoken language. I suggested calling it “Greater Universe Bay”,
and it is accepted! The accepted spoken language of “Greater Universe Bay” is Cantonese. “Greater
Universe Bay” is so extraordinary that every day will turn a new page. The citizens living there can
encounter vibrant of people and explore interests of “Greater Universe Bay”.
The concept of “Greater Universe Bay” is future, but environmentally friendly. We wish to keep
the Earth clean while producing high-tech articles. So, our clothing, food, housing and transportation are all
eco-friendly and green.
First of all, the clothing sold and worn at “Greater Universe Bay” is made from recyclable materials
such as recycled cotton and wool. A limited amount of these natural materials get recycled or reclaimed
today. And in “Greater Universe Bay”, the system of recycling clothes is complete so citizens won’t have
problems recycling clothes.
Secondly, the food eaten is mainly planted by the eaters. “Greater Universe Bay” is a selfsustainable
region and citizens usually plant vegetables for their own use. It’s usually “plant to table”.
Thirdly, the materials used for housing is mainly recycled steel and nano. Recycled steel is one of
the most eco-friendly housing materials in the world while nano can reduce pollution to the Earth. Due to
the beauty of the building, the building uses the “truss” structure and natural daylighting technology. Most
of the buildings have free Wi-Fi hot spot since many citizens need this service.
Fourthly, the transportation here is really high-tech. There are supersonic speed maglev vehicles,
self-driving automobiles, Hyperloop, gyroscopic vehicles, universal wormhole and much more. The
vehicles uses natural gas since it emits the least amount of carbon dioxide into the air when combusted. Also,
some of them doesn’t need to use fuel! The railway network of “Greater Universe Bay” is so advance that it
only take less than half an hour to go to Macau via Hong Kong, and it is very convenient.
Last but not least, I’ll talk about education. Children study in large, comfortable schools that have
beautiful classrooms. There are many facilities in the schools too. There are always outdoor teaching classes
in our learning schedule and we have many time to learn about the nature. Of course, we learn about the
advanced technology and the skilled technique control of “Greater Universe Bay”.
The life in “Greater Universe Bay” is amazing! The culture here is diversified because it contains
the culture of mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau. “Greater Universe Bay” contains the best of
mainland China, such as the great control of technology, the best of Hong Kong, such as the freedom of
speech, and the best of Macau, such as the amazing sense of art. It might be difficult for some people new to
this place which tries to blend the bests of the three places, but I’m sure that everyone will enjoy themselves
at “Greater Universe Bay” due to its different realms.
