Future Adventures of the Greater Bay Area Welcome to a Whole
New World

The Greater Bay Area was a new “sort of” country, it had advanced technology, delicious food and fun
attractions. You could think of it as a place filled with really tall buildings, everybody traveled by a
transportation called a “park n lift”. This transportation was a small, outdoor park with mechanical arms
underneath to lift it up, it stopped on every floor. There were plants, benches, toilets and even playgrounds
on the park n lift, you exited by sliding down the exit slide on the park n lift. Citizens didn’t need to work
in shops, restaurants etc. Instead, machines replaced them. Kids got a good quality education, and you could
see happy families everywhere. In this wonderful “country”, lived 3 friends, Paige Garcia, Theodore
Hollister and Calliope George. Paige was a compassionate and talkative girl. Calliope was an adventurous
and friendly girl. Her friends usually called her Calli. Theodore was a confident and nice person. These 3
kids were best friends since they were 4, they played after school every day. They attended GBA Academy,
they were in 6th grade.
One bright and sunny day, the friends met up after school as usual. They walked to the library
while chatting as the sky darkened. Theodore said, “I heard our old friend, Guios created meal pills that
provide nutrition and can replace food!” As she flipped her long, blonde hair, Calli said, “Wow! That’s
amazing!” They arrived at the library and did their homework. The next day, the friends read the news and
found out that the meal pills cause diarrhea, headaches and burping uncontrollably. Thousands of citizens
demanded Guios to pay their hospital bills and wanted a refund.
Calli, Paige and Theodore went to find Guios to find out more about what happened. They were
shocked when they arrived at Guios’s apartment, it was covered with tape, paparazzi surrounded it. Lucky
for them, they had a trick up their sleeve, they went through the secret garden they discovered when they
were little and knocked on Guios’s secret door. He let them come in and told them what happened. Guios
sobbed, “Please help me, guys! I can’t even get out of my own apartment.” The friends agreed to help and
started forming a plan. “I have a plan! Let’s create a new formula together to show people Guios is a good
scientist.”Paige said, as her brown eyes gleamed with excitement. Everyone agreed and they started making
it. Unfortunately, the ingredients they needed were too expensive, so they couldn’t make the new formula.
Then, Theodore came up with a new idea! He said, “We can raise a fund! People will donate money,
then we will have enough money to pay for people’s hospital bills! We can set up a hotdog and lemonade
food truck.” Calli, Guios and Paige said, “That’s a great idea!” Guios found his grandmother’s delicious hot
dog recipe and Calli used her mom’s refreshing lemonade recipe. The 4 kids borrowed Guios’s truck to be
the food truck. Paige called her mom to inform her about them raising a fund. Mrs. Garcia came to Guios’s
apartment and gave the 4 some ideas. She was very proud that Paige, Theodore and Calli helped a friend.
Mrs. Garcia went shopping for the ingredients and materials they needed, she went on the park n lift and
arrived at the GBA Mega Supermarket in no time. The kids set up the food truck outside the mall and
started the fundraiser. At first, a swarm of people surrounded the food truck and bought food. Later,
someone set up another food truck next to theirs and the new food truck sold egg waffles, Portuguese tarts
and many more varieties of food. Soon, the customers from the kids’ food truck bought food from the other
guy’s food truck instead! The kids couldn’t raise enough money and thought the situation was hopeless and
walked home with sad puppy dog eyes.
