The Travelling Pot

ong long ago , in a old shanghainese city a rich lady wearing a beautiful flowery dress walked down the alleyway desperately searching for someone selling a small junk boat . Eu-meh was the rich lady ’ s name and in english that means especially beautiful . Soon enough Eu-meh had found another lady selling her old junk . The lady ’ s name was Mei which means plum in english . Mei was happy enough to sell it , so Eu-meh and Mei set of to fetch the junk . “ Can you take me for a ride in your junk Mei ?” asked Eu-meh . “ Okay ” replied Mei as they boarded the junk . Once the were sailing Mei called “ Hey look over there Eu-meh ! Look at that pot !” “ O my gosh , that pot is amazing .” Eu-meh replied . She grabbed the pot out of the water and stuck her hand inside . Suddenly an invisible wind started pulling her into the pot ! ‘‘ AHHHHHHHHHHH !” she screamed as she was hauled into the pot . Mei grabbed onto Eu-meh and found herself being hauled into the pot as well ! After Mei and Eu-meh had fallen for what felt like hours , they finally fell onto what felt like a cold stone floor . Eu-meh was scared and asked where they were but Mei did not know either .“ According to that sign ,’’ Mei said , “ we are in , huh , THE FRENCH AREAS !” they both screamed “ HELP !” they shouted “ HELP !” they screamed but no help came . “ Mei look ! look !” Eu-meh said as she suddenly got very excited . “ Mei in your dress ! There is a piece of paper , maybe it came from the pot !” Mei pulled out the piece of paper and read it . It said , “ to get back to where you found this pot there is a flower jar . If you get that jar in time you will return by 7 ’ O9 . We will give you one fine clue it ’ s hidden in a corner of the longhua temple .” “ So let ’ s get going !” Mei cried out “ There ’ s also a map in here !” She continued . Eu-meh followed by saying , “ I know very well how to read maps , so should I do the map reading ?” “ Okay , I ’ m quite bad ,” Mei replied . They had walked about 1 mile they met some french police arguing with some shanghainese locals . “ I don ’ t think these ‘ foreigners ’ should live here or even be here ,” said one of the police officers . The ladies both gasped at the thought they might be transported out of the city before they could even find the vase ! Luckily they managed to tiptoe past the police officers and into a small fishing village . They looked at the map and saw that at the other end of the fishing village was the temple they were looking for . They ran through the village but were stopped by some shanghainese guards . They managed to explain that they were going to pray and put down offerings and the guards let them through . “ Phew , that was a close one ” said Mei . They ran the rest of the way to the temple and sprinted up the steps . They stepped with their right foot over the step into the temple . They both looked in the first room but they couldn ' t see the vase easily . They each started searching in every corner . Eu-meh said “ We should creep quietly into the next room I think I hear someone , quick they might see ”. They hurried into the next room and Mei said “ Look at all these offerings . Fruit , cups of water and candles . Suddenly Eu-meh shouted “ I give up we ' ve searched so long there is almost no chance of us finding that vase . We should just stay here and make a home .” “ don ’ t give up Eu-meh ” said Mei in a soft voice “ we can do it .” Suddenly Eu-meh screamed in delight . “ I see it , I see the pot !” Then Eu-meh started running towards the pot . “ Hey wait for me !” Mei cried . Eu-meh stopped then Mei caught up with her . Once they reached the pot , Mei stuck her hand inside . Then Eu-meh stuck her hand in the same way when Mei had completely disappeared . After traveling for a long time they finally hit the wooden floor of the junk . They continued a relaxing journey on the boat discussing what they had just done . After a lot of chatting , near the end of the trip the boat broke down ! “ Don ’ t worry .” explained Mei and they rowed their junk back to shore . Eu-meh bought the boat and her and Mei agreed to meet again maybe to have another adventure . They then said goodbye Eu-meh sailed away and Mei went home .
