New Tales of Old Shanghai : Shanghai ' s Amazing Places

i my name is Tae Yong Park ( Andy ). I lived in Shanghai for 1 year from 2011 to 2012 . Shanghai is a very attractive city and Shanghai is the most international city in China and lots of international people live in Shanghai . Shanghai is a fast developed city . On the other way it has a lot of China ’ s traditional sides . When I lived in Shanghai I went to a lot of traditional places . The six places that was memorable for me was Dong Fang Ming Ju , The Bund , Yu Yuan , Nan Jing Dong Lu , Jing An Temple , and Huang Pu river . So we are going to talk about these six places .
Dong Fang Ming Ju has a Shanghai traditional museum in it . If you go there , you can see what Shanghai was like in the past and how was Shanghai ’ s people ’ s life in the past . You can see a lot of models telling you how Shanghai ’ s people ’ s life ’ s were . Kids can learn a lot about Shanghai if they go there . It is totally different from the Shanghai today .
The bund is where international people lived in Shanghai in the past . During the opium war Shanghai lost to an international country so people from international came into Shanghai to live there and built building . International people live in the bund . Part of the bund , international people didn ’ t let the Chinese people in the bund . But now there are restaurants and banks and a lot of different kinds of things . It is very famous because when you eat at the restaurants in The Bund you can see the Huang Pu River and you can even see the Dong Fang Ming Ju . You can see a lot of difference there . I ate food in the bund and it was beautiful because we can all of the view in one window , also we can go out and take photos , seriously the view was amazing . Especially at night the view is amazing because the lights are all on and you can see Dong Fang Ming Ju , Shanghai World Financial Center , and even Shanghai Tower . I think you really have to go to the bund to eat delicious food and also look at the beautiful view through the window .
Yu Yuan is a place where Ming Dynasty ’ s manager made to make his father happy . In Yu Yuan there are lots of beautiful building , flowers , pond , and wood . It is very beautiful and good to take photos . And sometimes very beautiful to draw . There are beautiful view and also very delicious dumplings . I ate a lot of those . You should try it when you go to Yu Yuan .
Nanjing Dong Lu Street was the center of shopping . Shinsaegae Department store was opened on 1914 . Lots of people bought things there . Now it is a mixed-up with today ’ s shopping malls and the past ’ s shopping mall . It is the most famous shopping street in Shanghai . Now many people living in Shanghai or other travelers come and buy things and eat delicious foods . I went there with my mom and we shopped some things and also we ate the food that was lining up the street .
Jung An Temple is made 1,700 years ago . It is a very famous Buddhist temple and a very famous part of old Shanghai . It is a very exclusive temple . Many people who believe in Buddhism come here and pray . It ’ s very strong because it had been used by 1,700 years and still it is not broken . It is very interesting that the temple is very exclusive . When I went there it was very cool and there were lots of different kinds of things .
Huang Pu River is one of Shanghai ’ s river between the bund and Dong Fang Ming Ju . It is a total of 113km which is very long . Old Shanghai was a fishing village before the foreign country came in . Shanghai people caught fish and sold them to live . Now Huang Pu River is very famous to ride cruise ships and it is very important for transportation and also trading of one place from another . When we ride the cruise ship we can see Dong Fang Ming Ju and Shanghai Center on one side and on the other side you can see the bund so we can feel historical and modern together .
Shanghai is the most international place in Shanghai but it is also traditional . People think Shanghai only has High Buildings and it is very international but it is wrong . Shanghai is a very traditional place with lots of history . When you come to a trip on Shanghai You must go to The Shanghai traditional museum in Dong Fang Ming Ju , The Bund , and Yu Yuan , Nan Jing Dong Lu , Jing An Temple , Huang Pu river . So if you are interested to come and visit those places you can come to Shanghai which is a city that is mixed up with international and traditional . Come to Shanghai to make experience with your family . It is a great city to take photos at night time . Great view to look around . Finally , I just want to tell you that Shanghai is an amazing place . So Come to Shanghai .
