At the beginning of the class, Ms. Li talked about all the things that the class be doing for the week. Nothing
really caught Zhang Mei's attention until the "competition" came out of her mouth. Zhang Mei thought a
competition would be a great way to prove to everyone that he is a great chef. But Zhang started to drop his arms
down like a falling anvil and sagged his arms down, as Ms. Li said next week.
"Next week!" Zhang Mei said in a shocked voice. Zhang Mei was bored to death because all they did in class
was talk about cooking history. Zhang Mei didn't want to listen but he had to. He didn't want to disappoint Liu
Yang after all the things he has done for him.
Before Zhang Mei even knew it, it was already the competition. Before the competition started there was a
warm up round. Just as he took out his special spices Ms. Li noticed that one of her students Jie Mei had the exact
same spices. So she decided to tell Zhang Mei. As she showed the pictures of Jie Mei he had a flash back when he was
a banded by his mother. Zhang Mei started to realize that she could be his mother. He kept on asking himself the
same thing, should he become a chef?
Once Zhang Mei arrived home he told Liu Yang the new's. They both agreed that he should meet his mother.
So they started to ask people about his mother not many people knew about her. After nobody told any information
they decided to go to the police. As he gets the address he wondered why his mother abandoned him.
Once they got to the house Zhang Mei's mother cam out. "Mother!" He said as he went running to give his
mother a hug. "Hung Mei!" She said with a body full of joy. Zhang Mei was very confused, was his real name Hung
Mei? Apparently Hung Mei, and his mother talked inside she asked him if they could live together. Zhang Mei was
about to say yes. Until he realized that Liu Yang has treated him better than his mother. The next day they both went
to the court where Liu Yang adopted Zhang Mei. For the rest of his Life she took care of him.
