The Mystery Of HSBC

ne day Chang was walking down the Bund to HSBC. When he just reached HSBC, he saw a person
dressed all black that ran into HSBC, and ran out with a bag. Chang thought that guy was a robber, so he
went home and told his mom and dad. Chang’s mom Qing and his dad Jun thought it was impossible because
there was a doorman guarding the door. But Chang’s big brother Yang and his little sister Xue thought it was
possible because the doorman might be the robber’s friend, and they also decided to go there tomorrow.
The next day when they arrived at HSBC they all saw the guy dressed all black ran in quickly and they followed
him. They followed him down the staircase, but Xue fell down and hurt herself, so they must go back home.
After a couple of days they went back to HSBC and they saw that guy again but this time he had two women
dressed all black standing side by side, and they followed “The Blacks” into the bank. But this time “The Blacks”
didn’t go down the staircase as last time, this time “The Blacks” went to a vault full of gold! Suddenly Yang ran
into the vault for a piece of gold. Just before Chang could stop him, “The Blacks” have already tied Yang to a
pole. That night when “The Blacks” went away, Chang cut the rope and freed Yang.
The next day “The Blacks” didn’t come, so they went in the bank without hiding, suddenly they were kidnaped
to a dungeon. In the next few days, when they were almost starving to death, Chang saw a ray of sunlight. He saw
hope to freedom! They climbed out of the hole, and did you know what they had seen?! They saw a place like
inside a castle! On the glass it had beautiful flowers, it was like in a dream! It was huge! With a sculpture of Jesus, it
would look just like a church. From that day on, every day after school they went to the “The Castle” to play.
How “The Castle” was built and when, who knows. And that was the big mystery and secret in Shanghai, 1898.
