A Visit in Yuyuen Garden A.D.& F.D. of Pok Oi Hospital Mrs Cheng Yam On School, Chan, Hei Chit - 9 O n Sunday, my family and I went to Shanghai for travelling. I felt excited because it was my first time to go there. When we arrived at the airport, we headed to the Bund to look at the night view. The Bund was a water front area in central Shanghai which was a very famous tourist destination in Shanghai. On the second day, we visited The Old City of Shanghai. The Old City was the traditional urban cove of Shanghai. The tour guide said we could visit City God Temple and Yuyuan Garden City God Temple was located in the centre of Old City. It was very crowded when we arrived. I thought the temple was traditional but new because there were a lot of shops near by, such as restaurant, tea houses. After that, we went to Yuyuan Garden which was located in the northeast of City God Temple. This garden was built in 1559 during the Ming Dynasty. There were many halls and an Inner Garden. I thought Yuyuan garden was pictures que. We were given thirty minutes to walk around there. I walked past a room of a hall and looked through the window of the room. I saw a boy who was drawing with a brush. He saw me and said, ‘Who are you? I haven’t seen people like you. Your clothes are very interesting.’ I saw him wearing long clothes. I said, ‘I come from Hong Kong. I come here for a visit.’ The boy looked surprised. The boy said, ‘Please come in and I will show you my drawing.’ Then I came into the room and had a look of his drawing. His drawing was beautiful. He said, ‘You can try if you want.’ I said yes and tired to draw Doraemon. The boy laughed, ‘what is it?’ I said surprisingly, ‘You don’t know him? Doraemon is very famous.’ ‘Really? Please teach me how to draw Doraemon.’ said the boy. Then I taught him to draw a circle first, then the eyes. Suddenly, I heard someone calling me, ‘Wake up! Wake up! Why are you sleeping here? I rubbed my eyes and yawned, ‘What are you talking about? I am drawing Doraemon now!’ Dad laughed, ‘You may be too tired and fell asleep in the inner garden. I think you may have an ice dream.’ I looked around and saw myself in the inner garden. Where was the hall room? Where was the boy in the long clothes? Did I really fall asleep with tiredness? Or I met come body who lived in the past? I left with Mum and Dad with mystery. We went to some other places in Shanghai in the next three days. I felt strange about the day in Yuyuan Garden. Was there any magic in Yuyuan Garden? I thought there wasn’t any magic. I thought it was just a dream. I hoped I would go to Shanghai once again. However, I didn’t want to go to Yuyuan Garden again because it seemed very horrible to me although Yuyuan Garden was beautiful.
