“ Would you mind telling me something about Hong Kong ? I need lots of inspiration for my writing ...” The excitement shined through her smile .
“ No , not at all , “ I replied and sat next to her , recalling those interesting story I knew about where I live . The girl took out a pen and some paper . While I was telling the stories , she wrote them all down . I looked down at her notes , her handwriting was neat and beautiful .
“ I have lots of ideas on my mind now ,” She said happily . “ What ’ s your name ?” I almost forgot to ask her the most important question . “ My name is Eileen ,” she answered with a smile . I thought it was a beautiful name . “ What ’ s your name ?” She asked . “ Xiao Jie ”. I replied . Suddenly , I heard Mum calling me . “ I have to go ,” I said . “ It ’ s nice meeting you Eileen . Hope those stories helps .” “ Of course they do . It ’ s nice meeting you Xiao Jie . Hope I will see you again .” She bid me farewell . I opened the door while I heard the grandfather clock ringing again . “ Don ~~ Don ~~ Don ~~”
I saw Mum waving to me in the distance . “ Mum , did you hear that … the clock ? “ I asked . Mum shook her head and confused . Just as I was going to show her the door , to my surprise it was gone .
“ It ’ s quite late already , we have to leave . I want to borrow these three books , do you have anything to borrow ?” I shook my head . As my mum put the books onto the scanner of the automatic book borrowing machine . My eyes fall onto one of the book . It was a book called ‘ Modern Dream of the Red Chamber ’. And the author was Zhang Ai Ling . I took up the book and looked at the back cover , there was a photograph of the author . A lady who ’ s dressed in a cheongsam with golden swallow patterns and her face was very familiar . “ Zhang Ai Ling ”, “ Ai Ling ”, “ Eileen ” ! Suddenly I realized that it was the girl that I had just talked and shared my stories with in that ‘ library ’! The one and only , Zhang Ai Ling .
