Wave Coils slunk over, the Cerberus children at his heels. “Form a circle,” Ember commanded. Misty sprang from the Dark she killed, and led a six-legged falcon and the centaur to the others. “We can attack, and as more of us come, they can get in the circle to recover, then fight with us.” Misty sliced a Dark’s stomach as she said those words, and a winged leopard with long canines joined the monsters. She brought two more tiny dragon-men. “Is that… Gavin ?” Night Howls, one of the Cerberus children, gasped, staring at an enormous Dark. Misty looked his way, and her heart dropped in despair. “Gavin’s one of the Dark. What now? He’s a really strong fighter.” “We must work together. Kill them all!” Ember roared, shooting barrages of fireballs madly and occasionally blasting a cannonball made of fire. Rearing, Misty batted away the Dark that managed to escape Ember going insane and try to attack the monsters. Wave Coils drenched the Dark so their movements would slow, while the Cerberus children swarmed one Dark at a time, almost instantly killing them and turning into their actual selves. Eventually, the monsters outnumbered the Dark, but these were much stronger as they weren’t cursed- they were actual Dark. The Cerberus children- now with three more- sprang at a Dark that was lashing out at Ember’s face, who blasted fireballs in return, but they barely singed its pelt. They screeched, then fell, dissolving into ashes. Howling in pain and fear, Ember collapsed, Gavin looming over her. Misty lunged at him, churning his belly. Growling, Gavin spat poison at her, but Wave Coils washed it away with a jet of water, also hitting Gavin’s eye. Muttering in confusion, he lashed out at Ember, grabbing her. Jaws gaping, he prepared to take her body. Expertly, Wave Coils shot water at Gavin’s eyes, and formed a wave. Gesturing to the centaur Kasper Hoof, he shot him upward, and Kasper landed on Gavin, stabbing his eyes until blood was flooding out uncontrollably. Screeching in agony, Gavin tried desperately to grab Kasper, but he continued slashing and slicing him, galloping around his body. After a while, Gavin fell, rising again as werewolf. The remaining Dark shrieked, and disappeared. “Wow.” Gavin stared at the fading Dark. “I hope you have an idea on how to do that school project, Gavin,” Maya teased. “Haha. Very funny.” Gavin pounced on her. “We are the only ones that can get along,” he joked. Maya smiled. Ember whipped her three tails. “Let’s go home.” Together they headed home, Dark blood still on them…
