someone who I just cannot be . My parents and ancestors are Jewish , I cannot be a disgrace to them . My ancestors definitely would be rolling in their graves if I do change my identity and deny that I am Jewish .
Luckily , after a couple of months since I moved to Shanghai , there is this Polish ambassador who just came from Tokyo to Shanghai and said that he wants to help us . His name is Tadeusz Romer and he claims that he can help us find a place to take residence in Vienna . We immediately agree and decide to follow him , along with all the other willing Jewish refugees . We pack all of our belongings again . Just after a couple of months , we have to leave again . This time it is at least to a place safer than Shanghai . A place better than Shanghai , hopefully I will not be discriminated there . A place where life will be more decent . But there are many changes I still have to adapt to , so many new customs and new ways people do things in Vienna I bet . I am worried that I will not fit in .
Now we are on the boat , towards Vienna , where a new place and new life awaits me . A new personality . A new me .
