Once they finished their meal, Maya suggested that they go see the City God Temple.
Which was where they were separated by a large group of tourists before they even had time to admire the
temple.
Lily attempted to make her way back to Maya, but something caught her eye. It was a necklace lying on the
ground. Red string, looped through a jade rock, carved into the shape of a dragon, with a few yellow beads to
hold the knots in place. An elderly woman was walking away from it—it must’ve been hers. She hadn't noticed
her loss.
Lily glanced in the direction which she had last seen Maya. Then she retrieved the necklace and ran after the
woman, who had entered an alleyway.
Lily followed her. She whirled around in surprise.
The alleyway was a dead end. The elderly woman was nowhere to be seen.
How is that possible?
Lily saw an imprint of a dragon on the wall. It was minuscule, as large as a pebble. Barely conscious of what she
was doing, Lily knelt down and pressed the jade against the engraving. It fit perfectly, like a key.
