In Old Shanghai , a shadow emerged , carrying a mask . As the shadow silently moved through the door of an old man ’ s house , it stopped by a room filled with gold . Crouching in a corner of the room , a man emerged from the shadow . Immediately an alarm sounded . In a bedroom , an old man jumped up . The old man sprinted to the room filled with gold , and flicked the light on . He found the thief crouched in a corner of the room , and called the police . Seconds later , police swarmed the house . Fortunately , no gold was stolen , and the thief was arrested and sent to jail . The next night in prison , meat was served . A brilliant plan forming in his mind , the cunning thief poured a bottle labeled “ Acid ” onto the piece of meat , then slipped it through the bars . A passing officer , apparently hungry , took the meat and gobbled it up . Immediately the officer crumpled to the floor . While the other officers rushed to his aid , the victorious thief climbed out through an air vent . He sprinted back home , and thought back to his own actions . He finally understood that it was wrong , and he felt guilty . He decided never to steal again .
