Quest for the Jade Jaguar

ne day, it was an amber rainstorm but a boy called Jiang Ming still had to go to school. He was unhappy. So,
Jiang Ming went to the toilet to sulk. When he flushed the toilet, the toilet sucked Jiang Ming in and
suddenly he was in Old Shanghai, 1931.
Jiang Ming nervously went out of the Shanghai toilet. When he got out, he saw old buildings, trams, people
riding their bicycles, and people sailing junks. He also saw people wearing old styled clothes, people carrying bags
of rice, and lots of decorations on the street. He went inside a restaurant called ‘Hing Ko’ and sat down at a table.
He ordered xiao long baos, dim sum, Chinese BBQ noodle, and Shanghai hairy crabs. “This is divine, I’ve never
tasted something as delicious as this,” he thought. After that, he was really full.
On the way out of the restaurant, the leader of Shanghai asked Jiang Ming, “Could you please do me a favour?
If you can, I will give you some gold. I need you to go to a cave to find the Jade Jaguar and bring it back to me.”
Jiang Ming agreed and the leader gave Jiang Ming a bag of tools and a map to lead him to the cave. Then, Jiang
Ming left to find the cave.
When Jiang Ming got there, he went inside the cave but a snake wrapped itself around his leg and tried to
bite him. Jiang Ming opened the bag of tools and found a sword. He used the sword to slice the snake’s head right
off! Then, he went further into the cave but the path stopped at a lake of stinky, bubbling acid. Jiang Ming looked
inside the bag of tools and found a rope. So, he threw it around a rock on the roof of the cave and swung across to
the other side of the lake. Jiang Ming saw a smaller cave and went inside. He finally found the Jade Jaguar! He
grabbed it but the Jade Jaguar was sitting on a pressure plate that triggered the walls to close in. Jiang Ming quickly
got a metal pole out of the bag of tools and put it in the middle of the small cave. He ran out with the Jade Jaguar
just in time before the walls crushed the pole! He made his way out of the cave and started to go back to find the
leader.
Jiang Ming found the leader at ‘Hing Ko’ and exchanged the Jade Jaguar for a bag of gold. He felt happy but
he really wanted to go home. He felt hungry but he needed to go to the toilet first. He flushed the toilet and it
sucked him in again! He was back at his school! Jiang Ming went back to his classroom and hid the bag of gold in
his locker. He couldn’t wait for lunch time because he was starving after such a hard-working day!
