“ No , don ’ t forget the teeth marks with blood . The man has big teeth and there are some problems with his teeth ,” said Holmes . Before Watson could understand , Holmes had already been heading for the dentist .
The trip to the clinic took longer than Holmes and Watson thought . They spoke to the dentist when they got there .
“ I had several patients this morning . One of them had squinty eyes and big teeth . He was wearing a silk tie . He had a parcel with him but there were no stamps on it ,” the dentist told them . Holmes closed his eyes , thought for a while and smiled . “ The coins must be in the parcel , and the thief is planning to buy some stamps and send the parcel away .
We must go to the post office now !” said Holmes . Soon they were at the post office , talking to the staff . “ A strange man with squinty eyes and a silk tie came up with a parcel . He was buying some stamps but suddenly he turned away and left without saying anything ,” said the staff . Holmes closed his eyes , thought for a while and smiled . “ Holmes has found another clue !” exclaimed Watson . “ Better than that , I have found the thief . The thief must have changed his mind . Instead of sending the coins away , the thief wants to leave the coins with himself . Now call Mr Chen to meet us at the airport . The thief is going to leave the country ,” said Holmes . They rushed to the airport and saw Mr Chen . They hid and made sure no one escaped their eyes . “ That ’ s the thief , the one holding the parcel !” cried Holmes , pointing at a fat man with a silk tie . Mr Chen recognized the thief . Out of expectation , he was one of the VIP guests who visited Shanghai Mint ! Mr Chen bounded towards the thief who was too surprised to run . In no time , Mr Chen put the handcuffs on the thief . He thanked Holmes and Watson and took the thief to the police station . Back in London ’ s office , Holmes and Watson relaxed with cups of tea . “ If the thief had sent the coins away by mail , would he have escaped ?” Watson wondered . “ No , he wouldn ’ t do that . He thought that the safest way was to take the coins with him . That ’ s why we caught him red-handed ,” said Holmes . Watson nodded as he sipped his tea slowly . “ It is so great to have a long vacation after solving such a big case .”
