All I saw was that big man carrying my kid .” Just then , a French teenager passed by . “ Bonjour ! Qu ’ est-ce qu ’ elle a dit ?” I translated what I heard from the woman . “ On doit l ’ aider !” he said suddenly when I had finished .
Luckily , I brought my phone here . “ Hi , policeman . A man took a little boy named Ah Fook . He is heading towards the fake dental clinic .” “ Solve it yourself !” the policeman said in his booming voice . “ I am too busy looking for lost Chinese kids .” Oh ! I remembered ! French policemen don ’ t help the Chinese ! So , we set off , trying to catch the kidnapper by ourselves , half hoping that the man would go back to where the Chinese government ruled .
As I was running with the French teenager , whose name turned out to be François , someone shouted behind us . It was that woman ! She was crazy about getting Ah Fook home . She told us she just saw Ah Fook and that big strong man . She ran so quickly that we could not even keep up with her . After chasing around four long blocks , we finally caught up with her . We saw her leapt towards the big strong man . He bellowed , “ Get off , lady !” but couldn ’ t get himself free . In the struggle , François held the man ’ s arms , while I pulled his hair and took Ah Fook out of his hands . I was sure that man was in pain . Who cares ? The cunning man , who gave up the fight , ran off along the street . “ You saved Ah Fook ’ s life ! How can I repay you ?” the woman said in a grateful voice . “ Never mind !” I told the woman , “ I was expecting an adventure !”
The sun was setting . I felt like I needed to go home . “ Goodbye , friends !” I waved at them as I went back to the Bund . The world turned black once more .
“ Okay ! That ’ s all for today ! We will go back to school and you all can finish off the museum worksheets .” Most of the class moaned , but I smiled and stepped off into the beautiful sunset .
I have learned a lot today . And it was not at all boring !
