another man was already inside with his hands cuffed. The soldiers jumped into the truck. The captain ordered “Let’s go to the Food Court to find the third secret agent!” The truck started to move and moved faster and faster. Tony was shocked! His stomach was growling, it was now evening. Heart beating against his throat, he dashed to the truck and got hold of the ladder on the back of the truck. Within an hour’s time, they arrived at the Food Court, all the soldiers jumped out of the truck and ran to arrest another agent. Tony climbed in the truck. “I knew you would not leave me! You’re my best friend” Mack said to Tony while he unlocked the handcuffs. Tony asked the man “Do you work for Chongqing?” The man nodded. Mack said, “We are from the future. We are your friends” The man looked puzzled. Tony hissed, “We don’t have time to explain. Let’s drive to our machine. Quick!” The truck started moving, but the Japanese soldiers had sprinted out of the Food Court. The captain bellowed, “Come on, fire at them!” The soldiers pursued the truck while shooting it. When the truck arrived at the machine, there were no soldiers in sight. Tony and Mack led the man into the machine. “We will take you to Year 1945.” Mack explained. With a click of a button, the machine slowly faded into the surroundings. When the machine arrived at the victory day, 1945, Shanghai citizens were celebrating the victory in the old city. There were banners everywhere, everyone was cheering happily, and on every person’s face was a contented smile as if the joy had been rationed and saved up for the eight years of doom. “Am I in a dream? So China really won against Japan? Wow!” The agent’s eyes widened and his jaw dropped. Two days after their visit to Shanghai, Mack sighed to Tony, “Ah, now I just finished my report on Old Shanghai!” “Wait, you brought me there just so you could do your report?” Tony asked angrily. “Umm, well, in the enrichment history class the teacher expects you to have a real experience and I thought you would like to go with me even if you are in the intermediate class still, so I chose Old Shanghai because I knew you would like it.” Mack grinned evilly. “Well, I forgive you. I had a terrific time in Shanghai” Tony shrugged.
