The Adventure in Old Shanghai Hong Kong Baptist University Affiliated School Wong Kam Fai Secondary and Primary School, Li, Mischa - 9 I t was a wonderful day in Hong Kong, well, not for Shing Lai Hei! She was walking home, with her backpack overloaded. Today, there was a million homework stuffed in her backpack. Suddenly, she was in an unknown place, for she wasn’t looking where she was walking. She was in a hidden cave and as she was exploring, she slipped and fell into a hole! That’s when the story starts…… At the bottom was a purplish-black portal. “SAVE ME!!!” shouted Lai Hei but no she already fell in. All around her were pictures of the past, like Napoleon, Li Bai, Jesus……suddenly, a picture of an old town appeared and she was SUCKED into it! “Oof!” she muttered as she fell on to the hard stone cold floor. She expected someone to help her up but no one came. In fact, no one was even in the town! She began exploring this desolated place. Soon, she entered a bar. Inside was a little girl sitting in front of a fire. She was looking gloomy, but when she saw Lai Hei, her face lit up with hope. The little girl happily exclaimed, “Yay! The prophecy was true!” It wasn’t even a second when Lau Hei asked, “What do you mean ‘prophecy’? Also, where am I?” “Well,” answered the girl, “you’re in Shang Hai and the prophecy is saying like a hidden hero will come. Everyone except me was kidnapped and helped something called the ‘Mineral Minions’ mine precious jade and jewels. I was hiding so no one found me. By the way, here is the prophecy: When the night forgets light, 3 heroes will stop the fight, when they come one shall hold, the powers of fire, water and stone. Combine these and save them all, and return to the normal state from the fall. As she listened on how to track the heroes, she went off soon after. She took out a map from her backpack and started scanning it with her eyes. She went north and moments later, she arrived at a place called ‘Volcanoeix Dyraniom’ .
