CYRIL GEORGET Paris Paris

Born in 1969 in Lyon France, Cyril Georget quickly moved in the South West "Midi de la France", in Toulouse. There he grew up surrounded by paintings and books, a big garden and a few friends. Before his birth, his folks met in the Fine Art School (Beaux-Arts) in Paris participating to the controversial French and European revolutionary 1968 time.Therefore his childhood was tremendous, 1968 showcased sexual freedom and decoration of his house with Van Gogh and Toulouse-Lautrec. Later as a rather attractive teenager, he found therapy of his growing hormonal needs in drawing intensively muscular forms with ink and black chalk 'fusains' during four years, trying male and female body like in real life on paper, chinese black ink cartoon reproductions, punk rock drawings etc. but it was a state of non self-confidence which didn't bring him to a painter vocation immediately. Nothing else during almost twenty five (25) years happened besides a thrilling life very sexy and exciting. Traveling, housing in ten different European cities, after being refused by Fine Art School in Avignon, during this long trip 'on the road again', with the love of books by Henry Miller, and other Beatniks like William Burroughs, he finally accomplished at Toulouse University his subject of Foreign Literature Master in 1999 about the controversial topic of homosexuality in Burroughs books. It took again 7 years for him to settle somewhere and found out that his best skill was painting, Finally, in 2009. He quickly succeed to interest more and more persons/collectors all around the world in painting more and more complex scenery where male nudes flirts with surrealism. Not being able to follow any other courses than the resting University of Literature, he started his painting occupation being self-taught in permanent search to new painting knowledge in order to put them in practice, particularly with the study of Medieval and Renaissance in Museums he constantly visits. After living since 2005 in Budapest, he went with only a backpack in Asia for 3 months, then in Greece for 9 months and settled again in buying a flat with his husband in Bulgaria. There like in Central Europe, after the light and the peculiar beauty of Praga and Budapest Art Nouveau, Eastern Europe inspired him. He finally at the age of 50 years old, overpassed his crucial starting in Budapest, by choosing to be surrounded solely by nature and high mountains which give him energy to go further in his creativity. He is really productive and have painted up to 50 paintings in one month in July 2010, big and small acrylic, oil artwork and even once some ceramics. He reaches today more than 1000 of them in 10 years. You can see almost all of them in large format in the SERIES menu according to 23 recurrent 'motifs'. More than 100 of them were in NYC at Thom Simmonds Gallery 42d Street near Times Square, other hundreds are owned by collectors in California.
