Twister

Into the field dressed in blue

Out of the field in white

He walked like someone you thought you knew

But changed form in the light

Into the night with a steady gaze

Shirtless and nervous with worry

Melting the lines between fear and grace

His face turned a blur in a flurry

Better to hear the voices than silence

At least when he rants you're aware

That in front or behind despite the violence

You can feel what he sees when he glares

On the road with a shovel or a handful of bones

Perhaps near the burned or the buried

He peers through the void where he once had a home

And picks up his pace in a hurry
